Help me loose my baby weight

Slightly misleading title as I wasn't where I wanted to be weight wise before I got pregnant so I actually want to loose 2 and a half stone in total. I put on just over a stone during pregnancy (not including actual baby) and I've lost 8lbs so far and I'm 12 weeks post partum.

I would love to finish my maternity leave and go back to work feeling slim and confident, not chunky and frumpy but I'm finding it difficult. I am eating between 1400 and 1600 calories and have been to the gym a couple of times when my husband has been home from work and able to watch the baby. However, I had my first night out at the weekend, ate some buffet food and and a few glasses of prosecco and I put 4lbs of the 8lbs I had lost back on. It's very disheartening as I'm not sure what I did wrong, I didn't have THAT much, just a couple of sandwich quarters and a couple of sausage rolls. Surely that doesn't warrant a 4lb gain?

Any tips/advice would be appreciated!

I lost all of mine by doing A LOT of walking. Pushing a big pram up hills is a seriously good work out.

Well done on loosing the 8lb so far!
On the 4lb showing on the scales, I imagine this is just water weight or could it be related to a period coming up?

I'm 4 weeks PP and keen to get back to pre baby weight, DC2 has jus turned 2 and I got back to prepregnancy weight within about a year but I did put on a lot with him. Not as much this time so I'm hoping that makes things easier. I'm struggling with movement a bit as I had a C-section and seem to have 0 strength in my core. I've signed up to a postnatal fitness class starting September (have to be 12 weeks post section) I did a similar class last time. Trying to get in as much walking as I can in the meantime

Head over to ⭐️Lose it⭐️Joyus June 2024. A really friendly group. People share their meal plans, give advice and just a great group to be a part of! My baby is 17 months now, but I've lost 1 1/2 stone. I've just started the 5:2 diet and lost half a stone in three weeks!
