6 weeks until holiday, 6 lbs to lose

Starting weight 11st 6lbs. The plan is to stop eating shit. I do lose weight quite easily (if slowly) if I manage to do that. Nutritious meals, lots of veg/salad, no snacking. 1lb a week should be doable.

Anyone with a similar goal? I have some lovely holiday clothes that will feel far more comfortable if I manage it.

Good luck! I am also trying to shift some weight for my August holiday though I have a lot to lose. My aim is next Easter for my final target but 7lb for Aug. After years of starting and failing at diets, I have signed up to the Nutracheck app and I have lost 5lb so far. I'm perimenopausal and it's taking longer than it would have years ago but I feel I'm on the right path. I weigh in on Fridays. I am not sticking religiously to calories or carbs but the app is making me more mindful of what I eat for sure. I also have pcos so definitely eating more fresh fruit and veg and have cut out cereals which has helped enormously, breakfast is now full fat greek yoghurt, with raspberries blueberries and flaked almonds.
Maybe start by working out your daily intake and seeing where you can improve? I think Nutracheck do a months free trial, take a look.
I will check in next Friday!

I’ll have a look at Nutracheck, I was wondering about some kind of weigh in/accountability system. My friend has done really well at slimming world and while I like the idea of face to face accountability, not sure I like their system.

How do you deal with logging home cooked food on those things?

It's so so easy. If it's a regular meal, I build a meal. The option is at the bottom. You can put it per portion size or full meal if you make something like a cottage pie, and when you add it to your daily log, you can add a quarter or half of that meal etc.
If its an omelette or something, you can choose omelette or build it as 2 eggs, cheese etc.
I tend to make my work lunches a few days in advance so log them all at the same time. You can copy meals over rather than rebuild them.
Something that's also helpful to me is seeing how much fruit and veg it eat, its more than I thought, you can view in carbs or fat etc alongside the calories, and it has helped me massively reduce my upf intake as I can see just how much the numbers creep up eating them.

Let me know how you get on!

I have nutracheck, I recently lost 7lb before my holiday. For me walking a more (10000 steps) daily and drinking more water for it off quicker. I love takeaways m, so I have become quite good at my own fakeaways to stop me ordering at weekends.

Hello, how is it going? I lost 1 lb this week, happy with that.

dueindecember10 · 01/07/2024 06:06

I will join if that's ok. Horrified by my weigh in today and could do with some support/accountability!

Please do! I am severely lacking in motivation this week and my weigh in is on Friday. I had a busy weekend and it threw me off. On it now but think I need to lose any i have put on.

Have you got much to lose? I have about 4 stone total but breaking it up and very much want to get into the next bracket to give myself a boost!

Lovehappychildren · 04/07/2024 08:50

I weighed in early today ( I usually do it on a Friday) and have lost another 1lb. Happy with that!
How are you getting on?

dueindecember10 · 04/07/2024 19:51

I’m still plugging away. Had a good start to the week so far.
Just need to keep the effort going! Well done on the 1lb off.

Hello, skipped last week’s weigh in as things hadn’t quite gone to plan 😆 but back today 1.5lbs down, so 4 weeks to go and 4.5lbs to go. Still seems doable!
