What was your final straw?

What was the final straw that got you to say enough is enough?

For me it was the comments. I’ve been larger since puberty. We’re talking 10/11 stone at sixth form and a bit more after university.

I would often get people remarking on my weight but it always got me down. I volunteered with the Royal Voluntary Service and some (nice enough) women would just offer unsolicited advice - “have I thought about about cutting my hair to enhance my shape?”. My own grandmother telling me I should drink warm lemon water first thing. Having my cocaine addict uncle preach to me about healthy eating.

Just didn’t want to hear another word of it! Leave me alone.

What about you?

For me it was pain. I always got pain in one hip if I walked too far (think I have an odd gait!).
But I got so big it got to the point where my hip was hurting all the time no matter what....I knew I didnt want to end up immobile at a young age so off to the GP I went!

Damage is kinda done now but on the plus side it means my hip only plays up if I sit for too long so I am def not sedentary now! Also I now run three times a week rather then struggle with a flight of stairs.

I weighed myself recently after convincing myself breastfeeding was doing something & being so sure an old pair of tight jeans were looser than before.
Nope.
Hit my heaviest ever weight of 17st after being 16st 4 after I had my baby last October. I'm just a greedy pig who has no self control over what I put in my mouth, I'm brutally honest about that that fact. Just trying to learn how I can retrain my brain & start intermittent fasting tomorrow.
Eta that my last straw was seeing 17st and realising this will not help my annual diabetes test I had to have due to GD in a previous pregnancy. I don't think I was clear enough 😂

All the parents round here are slim and stylish. I was usually the fattest mum at the school gates and looked a state, it just made me feel really shit.

Being in a Step class (remember those!) with women the same age but looking ten years older

Edited

This is exactly me. I even had mac and cheese for tea. Keep thinking I can't diet in case it disrupts my milk supply.

I haven't reached my final straw yet but I'm trying to change what I eat ahead of TTC DC3.
