DP & I are getting hitched on 7th June. I am still yet to drop back down to my pre-pregnancy weight and need some help doing so! I am weaning DD off breastfeeding (she's 9 months now) as have the biggest appetite when BFing... Other than that I try to eat healthily but my weakness is cheese and late evening snacking....usually on cheese! I'm a veggie that eats fish (whatever that's called). I walk 4 miles 3 times a week in the eves (training for a sponsored walk) and do an exercise vid once a week. Find it hard to fit anymore exercise in with 2 under 3s (DP works long hours).

Please help motivate me and give me tips as I've never been good at dieting!!

I'm currently 10.5 stone, dress size 12-14, height 5'6". Main areas of problem are my upper body- flabby upper arms and the muffin top / back fat. Boobs are shrinking . Legs/bum ok.

Help please!! xxx

I'd say low carb is your way forward - cheese figures quite highly. Lots of fish and salad. No processed carb.

I have lost over a stone and a half since 3 March on Atkins. I lost a stone in the first 2wks. I don't plan on doing this forever but its a good kick start to lose the weight.

Def low carb. Not so much atkins but no starchy carbs after 5pm (eg rice, pasta, bread, potatoes). Fill up on lots of veg and have one 'naughty' day a week where you can have a treat.
I'e lost 18lb up to now since mid-jan and 1 inch off boobs/hips and 2 inches off my waist. All with hardly any exercise cos I don't have the time.
Late night snacks we have fruit salad in juice with spoonful of low fat yoghurt.
Low fat cheese not too bad instead of full fat

I've just lost 10lbs in 5 weeks.. very easily, wasn't hungry.. I'll update tonight when I get time so this is just to mark my place for later.

you can do this.

PS. Congratulations.

Its the late night snacking thats stopping you from losing weight.
Just stop that and limit your cheese - switch to 1/2 fat temporarily and I'm sure you'll see the difference.

I've lost a stone just by stopping the eve snacks and eating grapes or pineapple if I'm really in need and reducing my evening meal by only having 1/2 a plateful of usual dinner and filling 1/2 the plate with steamed veg (from a bag in the freezer).

Good luck and Congratulations.

Thanks everyone
Anyone have any good weblinks for low carb dieting? Don't know much about it really other than the obvious. Also I have decided to keep 1-2 breastfeeds going (DD has cystic fibrosis and dietician recommended if we can keep going a bit longer then that'd be good for her)- I'm assuming this doesn't demand much from my body but is it still safe to diet?

Thank you! xxx
