Hi all,

I'm looking to see if anyone has any good experiences with this appetite suppressant. All I've read so far is negative but I've just spent the money so really hoping I'm not just signing myself up for dizziness and nausea with no actual weight loss resulting!

It has worked really well for me. It has taken away all food noise and increased my mood. Funnily enough, Saxenda, Mounjaro etc didn’t work for me.

I've just had to discontinue after 4 days. Haven't felt so ill in a long time. Spaced out, nauseous, sweating, increased migraines, couldn't concentrate. Had to leave work early - I'm a nurse prescriber and was struggling focusing on prescriptions. It's taken 3 days for me to feel normal again! Am away to try soup and shake diet. Mysimba just wasn't worth the side effects for me. However I hope it's successful for you. 😊

Hi, how are you getting on with this medication now? I am thinking about starting. Thank you 😊

Lizziewest88 · 06/12/2024 16:20

Hi, I’ve bought some a bit nervous about starting, anyone else got reviews?

How are you getting on? I had to stop mine after less than a week as an above poster said, started feeling really sick and getting constant headaches

Hi, I was sick the first time I took it. Then started taking it with my evening meal and it made a difference. I’m now on two tablets a day and long as I don’t take on an empty stomach am ok. Not seen any big difference yet. I’m going to keep going until I’m on 4 tablets a day and see if that makes a difference. Hope it does, don’t fancy injections x

Interesting! Please keep us updated when you can x

Hi, I've been on it for 1 week and I've lost 4 ibs. I think I'm most surprised about the reduction in cravings and appetite. I've 5 stone to lose so still a long way to go but I've had absolutely no cravings for chocolate or crisps which I used to eat daily. I'm feeling fuller as well on smaller portions. As for side effects I've had none so far. Everyone is different and will react differently to the pills but so far so good. I'll keep with it and see how I get on after the first month.

Hi, that is great to hear! Are you still taking them and if so how are you getting on?

I’m at the end of week 1 of Mysimba. The food noise has virtually disappeared; day 4 I felt awful but fine since.

i think I’m going to stay on 1 tablet a day for another few days / week as it’s enough to quieten the food noise and keep cravings under control.

tracking calories with Nutracheck.

how is everyone else getting on?

I am so so late to this- just wondering if you’re still on these and how you’re getting on? I have basically the whole pack still sitting in my cupboard and I’m so tempted to try again but just worried about these side effects

Started Mysimba 1 week ago, from Asda online doctor £99 .,, was very nervous due to reviews …actually had them for 2 weeks before commencing them ..took every day after cereal / cup of tea .I find the worst bit is actually the tablet itself , it’s big and has a funny smell Iv had no issues with constipation and have not felt ‘jittery’ or anxious/ agitated and have slept very well I have still felt hungry but a little food satisfied me , I realise these tablets will not ‘make me loose weight’ I have to change my mindset and It will take a long time but I’m hoping Mysimba will provide the kick start , Iv lost 5ib in 7 days ( I didn’t take for 1 day as I was going out for day so just ate sensibly) day 1 .,,after 1 hr felt really hot lasted 1-2 hrs felt a little nauseous, also a bit low in mood ate healthy evening meal and fruit.. day 2 .,,mild headache and stomach cramps in afternoon for about 1/2-1 hr also dry mouth . Day 3.. hot episode again felt more energised also a bit grumpy and dry mouth .. day 4 felt hungry all day and grumpy again ..,day 5 episode of nausea in afternoon for about 1-2 hrs still feel energetic but not too much ..day 6 no problems except extremely tired for about 1-2 hrs in afternoon , actually could have slept !! Iv noticed that if I sit down for a long period in afternoon and start to feel ‘a bit icky’ if I get up and start to move around it passes quickly ?
Hope this helps , everyone will react differently but at least with a tablet you can just stop and it’s out of your system after 12 hrs or so unlike the injections .. I’m not going to increase dose just yet , maybe next week I will try adding a second tablet after lunch when Iv adjusted to them a bit , good luck !!

I've been on Mysimba for eight months now. Would have liked to have joined a support thread at the start, but only just spotted this one!

In eight months I've lost nearly four stone, twenty five percent of my body weight, and bmi has gone from 32 to 23. I never set a target because the guidelines said you would only lose 5-8% and I had planned to try the least expensive med first before moving onto injections.

As it happens it worked so well there was no need to change.

Trying to stabilise my weight now, but still losing a pound a week even on only one tablet a day. You have to buy 112 tablets monthly so I now have a nine month stock pile which I plan to use to hopefully reset my 'set point.' Don't know if that is how it works but definitely too scared to try going it alone.

For me these tablets have been a miracle. Yes, I've changed my life style: high protein and fibre, minimal carbs, and upping my exercise, but I wasn't able to do that without the help. The food noise completely vanished pretty much overnight. No interest in snacking and now I enjoy food, whereas previously I just enjoyed eating, if that makes sense.

Side effects have been minimal: nausea and stomach pain for the first two months, some hair loss, which had settled now, and an ongoing tendency to constipation.

My only regret is that I increased my dose up to four tablets daily on the schedule advised and I didn't need to go that far. I would have preferred to have lost weight a little more slowly.

Good luck to anyone else using/considering these meds. Hope you too have a good result.

I’d like to know what are people’s experiences of when the lack of desire to overeat kicks in ? I have 10kg to lose and I started today . I have , as yet unmedicated ADHD and am crawling through the menopause so this sounded to me like a wonder solution to quite a few problems at once . Naively thought it would work straight away … but I’ve already started snacking .. . I need hope and inspiration!!
