Wegovy... again

is there anyone on here who has used wegovy and reached their target weight and stopped using the injection?

i didnt get to target, but went on holiday and for one reason or another stopped the injection, and found that while not taking the pen, i was eating like a horse!

i started again, but i'm not far off my target weight, and would like some advice on how to come off it effectively and not just pile the pounds back on.

I am now able to go to the gym, and do 3 or 4 sessions a week, so am working on my fitness levels, i have mobility problems so can't run and stuff but can do seated weights etc.

is it best to reduce the dose or to just stop all together?

It's early days for me, but I have weaned off over a couple of months.

My plan is to basically continue exactly as I was while taking it. I'd got into a really good routine with food and exercise and just need to keep it up and not slip back, even if I feel hungry and really want to. I don't snack ever. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables.

Pay close attention to what you're doing now and keep doing it. Weigh yourself often, don't let bad habits creep in. It will take hard work and discipline.

Yes I’ve stopped and not regained and lost more weight (that I needed to lose)

I will use an analogy if you felt tired while you’re at work you wouldn’t go off and find somewhere to go to sleep and have a nap. You would say to yourself. This is not the right time to nap. I can’t go to sleep right now. I’ll get an early night later etc.

This is exactly the same way you have to approach food and hunger, not all hunger is genuine, sometimes it’s just a feeling it doesn’t mean you have to eat every time

the problem Is you’ve been in a unnatural state that humans are not meant to feel not hungry, I have been on this medication and is actually quite scary

being hungry is normal and having the capacity to eat more than what you’re eating is something that you can control at this point

you have to learn enough about yourself to know what’s real hunger what your real capacity is eating when you are feeling satiated or if you’re just experiencing desire to carry on eating like ‘a horse’ and how much your body needs to eat every day and when to cut yourself off as a limit

you don’t sleep as many hours as you fancy every day, you sleep to the hours that you’re able to fit them into your day, the same as a calorie allowance. You have to see hunger as a similar, body reaction. You don’t reward your body sleep every single time it’s tired, you have a routine. You now need a food routine for life

That’s a really interesting way of looking at things Menora and I’m going to make an effort to remember it
