If Ozempic didn't work for you, did Mounjaro?

Started a new thread just to ask this as my posts get buried in the Mounjaro threads 😅

Ozempic didn't do a thing for me. It was honestly like I was injecting water. Well, I say nothing but I am Type 1 diabetic (NOT type 2) and it did make my body use my insulin better so my blood sugars were good. But it didn't do anything for my appetite

Today I have taken my first injection of Mounjaro. I am DESPERATE for it to work. I have 5 stone to lose and not enough money to fund these things that aren't working...

Did Mounjaro work for anyone else when Ozempic didn't?

Thanks

Yes.

I used Ozempic in 2022 when I was relatively new ish. Never felt so sick in my entire life and it did nothing for my appetite suppression

I decided to try MJ 6 weeks ago and I've lost 17 lbs so far. Prior to MJ I was going it alone and I'd lost 20 lbs so I'm at 37 lbs so far since March and finally getting somewhere - 11 stone odd now

But yes to answer your question - 17 lbs in 6 weeks but I do exercise every day and I generally eat around 1200-1400 calories a day

Oh and I take 2.5mg and don't intend to go up at all.

I was under the impression that these drugs were contraindicated in type 1 diabetes as they are still studying if it’s safe because it can lower your insulin too much and it still has a special warning?

Where did you get this?
Have you spoken to your diabetic nurse?

Hi I've been on Mounjaro for 6 weeks & lost 1 & half stone, I still have have another 2 stone to go but Mounjaro is definitely working for me & I can start to see the results. I would definitely recommend Mounjaro as I've tried for years to loose weight & now I'm much happier.

Same here, I tried Wegovy and it didn’t seem to do a thing I was so disappointed. Been on Mounjaro for a couple of weeks now and having a much better experience and great results so far.

If anyone is looking to try and wanted to use zava here is a discount code for 15% off.
(and it gives me 15% off my next pen too 😊)

How is it going @Nowanextraone? I am type 1 and thinking about it. I'm good at changing my insulin doses so a bit if trail and error at first I imagine. I have at least 5 stone to lose..I don't think any of the weight loss injections are 'approved' for Type 1 but Mounjaro seems the most effective.

Andthelittleonesaidrollover · 10/09/2024 10:40

Can't answer your question, but just starting on MJ myself. I'm also mum to a type 1! 😁

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 10/09/2024 10:46

I can't afford to keep up with it atm, but Mounjaro absolutely killed my appetite. The only side effect I experienced was a nasty headache at the start!

I plan to go back on it once finances are a bit brighter, I lost 2st and have another 3st to go. I had gestational diabetes which puts me at a higher risk of developing T2 in the future, so I think it's worth using.

Pyjamatimenow · 10/09/2024 10:47
