Fast 800 and the benefits of full-length mirrors

As a classic pear shaped gal who has lived without a full-length mirror for the past 10 months, I was rather shocked to see a video of myself recently where my lower half has truly ballooned! My poor skirt, which I thought looked so lovely, was stretched right out of shape by my ample thighs (ahem), and suddenly I realised that my jeans haven’t shrunk in the wash as I assumed – I’m just a bit podgy.

As such, I have decided to do a variation of the Fast 800 diet. I say variation because I can’t afford to actually sign up to the paid programme to get recipes and all that jazz, so I will be simply skipping breakfast and lunch and having a healthy, low carb dinner (and no sugar) every weekday until my jeans fit again.

Posting here for accountability, support from anyone doing similar, and maybe the odd inspirational story where someone drops half a stone in a week and has tons of energy (wishful thinking? Maybe 😆)

Wish me luck!

Good luck! I’ve really enjoyed this in the past and might do it again after next week’s holiday. I’ve never done the paid programme, but the books are really good for recipes and there’s also a FB group where people post ideas, if you need inspiration!

All the best!

I hate that sinking feeling when you realise what you 'actually' look like in photos. I had that feeling recently standing next to a slim friend. Wishing you a ton of luck!

Thank you!

Feeling a bit tetchy now it’s mid-morning, but I keep looking at that video to remind me why I’m doing it.

Planning to go to bed super early as well to make things easier/make me less grumpy tomorrow!

Good luck! I've started 16:8. Black tea after waking up, late breakfast, coffee, dinner. This is my third day and it's not bad so far.

I’ve heard these things get easier after the third day - well done! Hope you’re feeling great 🙂

Thank you! I'm feeling okay but determined to stick with this.

I can relate to you post as I'm also short and pear-shaped and I have put on weight over the past while. I also don't have a long mirror in my bedroom.
