My weight and size have affected my self confidence and behaviour for years and I've finally had enough of it.

I've got a holiday (with in laws too) booked for October and plan to lose a lb or 2 a week til then, I'll still have some to go after the holiday too but I'd really like to go swimming or play in the park with the dc without thinking about what I look like or if I'll fit on the slide!

Feel free to join me

I'd like to loose 4 stone but I have no idea how to start.

What diet plan are you following?

blackpear · 26/05/2024 19:30

I need to lose 4 stone at least. It would be lovely to manage it by December . . .

decionsdecisions62 · 26/05/2024 19:41

I need to lose about a stone and a half. So far I've lost half a stone but need to keep going.

Frumpelstiltskin · 26/05/2024 20:03

I will just be calorie counting, I have an exercise bike from my last attempt (that I never used) and those body composition scales that tell me the fat/water percentage.. it's an eye opener!

I'm going to play about with those calculators that will tell me how many calories to aim for and download probably My fitness pal to keep track.

I'm not going to meal plan as I find I never want whatever is planned.

My job is quite busy so no chance of snacking. I just need to avoid the shops after the school run and ban food from the car!

So... I didn't manage to actually start last week but I'm now on day 2 and feel like something has clicked! I haven't got this far for years!

How is everyone getting on?

I'll join you 😁 5 stone to lose.
I keep focusing in why I'm doing this, and tbh it's because I'm so worried for my health and the complications of my Type 1 diabetes.
Well done for getting through today. I start tomorrow

Peach2022 · 04/06/2024 20:23

Me too please, 5 stone less of me would be amazing!

TroubleMakingWitch · 04/06/2024 20:26

Count me in!! About 5 stone to lose too.

I've got Nutracheck and was planning on calorie counting. The app suggests about 1400 calories. I'm wondering if I should do a bit more as I'm concerned that's quite low?

Have a look here, apparently this is much better.

I'm calorie counting too

TroubleMakingWitch · 04/06/2024 20:44

Thank you! That's much more achievable for me.

I'm really struggling with my motivation but I'm desperate to be healthier and get my confidence back so I need to hold onto this!!

Frumpelstiltskin · 04/06/2024 23:04

So if that tdee gives the amount needed to maintain how much should be taken off to lose?

Good to see people are aiming towards a similar goal, though I'm literally telling myself it's just one day at a time, gets a bit overwhelming to think 5 stone, but if I think I have a lower goal then I think I can cheat..my own worst enemy!

I've just weighed in and was a bit more than I expected!!

Do we plan to have a group weigh in day?

I'm happy to go with the flow!!

Frumpelstiltskin · 05/06/2024 22:45

I plan to weigh on Mondays to keep me grounded during weekends but happy for everyone to do what works for them.

I got some of those smart scales recently and they made me heavier than my normal scales.. so god knows how I work out which is correct!

Day 3 done, pleased with myself as I took my meal replacement shake to work today and when I got there a bacon sandwich had been made for me and I didn't have the heart to say no.. usually that would have been me done and I'd give up for the day but instead I changed my meal plan to allow for the calories and still ended up on target. I don't remember the last time I was able to do that!

What sort of things is everyone having for dinners?

I'm fine on the days I'm eating alone due to clubs and sports but when I'm eating the same meal as dh I'm struggling to find compromises.
