Dropping dress sizes but not losing Weight?

I've been on a Health Kick the past 6 months, Calorie counting + fasting (16:8), ridiculous amount of walking, occasional running and it really seems to be Working. I've gone from a size 14 to a 10 and receiving countless comments about how slim I look now (hooray) BUT when I get on the scales, they barely move, 1-2lbs movement but mostly my weight has stayed the same. Is this possible?? Or should I bin the scales and try new ones? I do have a 'sporty' body type, very broad shoulders and long legs, 5'9" too.

Water fluctuations, muscle gain, clothes, weighing yourself at a different time of day, ect. It’s entirely possible!!

Could you start tracking inches instead?

I have a very similar ‘problem’ and find it very demoralising so avoid weighing myself but it does sound like you’re doing great.

@TwitTwoooooooh well done with the health kick and great results! Ditch the scales and go with how you feel and how your clothes fit.

I’ve been lifting light weights, I’ve put weight on but I’m smaller on the tape measure. All entirely possible

Are you menopausal? Because I am and I have this. A few months ago DH and I went on a health kick. I started at 11st 5 and went down to 11st 1, but was much thinner. Then stressful stuff happened so I comfort ate, and now I’m 11st 3 but 2 sizes bigger!

Years ago I was on WW and a woman there didn’t lose any weight at all for something like 3 months but went down 3 dress sizes.

I don’t understand it. But yay for you!

Thanks all! To be honest, I don't take the scales too seriously - the first time I bought a Size 10 was enough to celebrate for Me Grin It's just strange that's all, assumed because I'm so broad and tall I can't weigh much less!

@DoingJustFine I'm not, No.. few years yet until I turn 40! Interestingly it's the 11st mark I seem to be stuck at, give or take a few lbs depending on time off the Month!

Muscle weighs more than fat, but also takes up less mass - hence, you are getting smaller but gaining muscle so the scales don’t shift so much.
