Switching to Monjaro from Wegovy

Looking for advice from anyone who has switched...

I'm on Wegovy and have been on it since last November. It's working really well for me. Rightangled is now pushing me towards Mounjaro with lots of info on why it's more effective, cheaper etc.

Dr Google says you need a wash out period of a few weeks to get Wegovy out of your system before starting Mounjaro - is this right?

Also what dose do you start on Mounjaro if you've already been taking semaglutide? I'm on 1mg of Wegovy at the moment (it's working well and I hadn't planned to up the dose yet).

Thanks in advance.

Hi....

I was on 1.7mg of Wegovy since October and recently changed to Mounjaro .

I washed out for 2 weeks (advice varies on how long to leave it).

Wish I hadn't changed as Wegovy was working for me plus still had the 2.4mg to go to if 1.7 stopped working. Food noise has come back and I've not lost any weight in the past month (I know I may not lose until I'm on the higher doses) so I would have been better sticking with what was working!

Mixed reviews on switching,

It was not a good idea for me and going back to Wegovy

Oh wow thanks so much for replying. The fact that it's a good bit cheaper made me suspicious but all the promotional material tries to suggest the two drugs do exactly the same thing around GLP-1. And that Mounjaro actually is more effective.

So even when they have cracked it, seems the diet industry still can't get out of the habit of exploiting and lying to people. Sad.
