Are family/friends supportive of you using Mounjaro, Wegovy etc

Hello I was just wondering the response other are getting

I have mentioned I have been using Mounjaro to a few people and have had a mixed reaction but have been surprised and quite upset how negative some responses have been

I am hoping once weight loss is more obvious people might be pleased for me. I don’t expect for my weight loss to be important to others but it would be nice for family/friends to be supportive

I fear that no one will be pleased for you when you lose weight. They will probably believe that it's cheating no matter what. People that know nothing about it think it's a fast weight loss and an easy way lose. I doubt many would be convinced it's a good thing unless they themselves are obese and want to do it.

Yes my family know and are pleased for me / proud of me. You'd have to be a special kind of dick to refer to it as 'cheating' 😂

I haven't told anyone yet... on my 4th week. I plan to tell my husband first and soon probably... I know he will be supportive and will not judge me. Friends I'm not sharing with yet.... but may in time... I feel very fortunate that I can comfortably afford to buy this atm and I know some of my friends may want to try it but perhaps couldn't afford it.

I didn’t really tell many people but so many people I know are doing it now, it’s a lot more commonplace. I can name you 10 real life people I know on it but when I took it, it was just me!

Only my family know and they're supportive.
They don't know how much I spend on it or the specifics though.

I am surprised by the strength of opinion some friends have had and I felt personally attacked

I am going to be careful who I tell now.

To have to that constant chatter in my head about what would I eat next quietened down has been so good for my mental health. So just have to concentrate of what is right for me can’t lie it has upset me

I don’t really care being called a cheat (I don’t think it’s cheating at all) it’s more I have had a bit of insight into how they view me and that is lazy or I haven’t tried hard enough

anyway it’s the best thing I have done for myself for a very very long long time and I am happy to read others are feeling good about themselves too

Pretty mixed.
My husband was a bit skeptical at first but has definitely come round to it now I'm nearly at goal. He's trying to persuade his dad to start taking it!
One of my friends keeps saying I should stop taking it and it doesn't sound safe etc. Another friend keeps making little comments about she'd worry about the long term effects and what happens when you stop? Support has definitely grown now I'm looking pretty good 😁
I don't actually care what anyone else thinks. I kept it to myself to start with but now will happily talk about it with anyone who is interested.

I think there are always people that want to be negative.

I've seen on the AIBU thread people going and doing a bit of googling and deciding it causes thyroid cancer etc.

I decided against telling any in my family as I felt if I tell one person, then everyone will know soon enough! I did keto a few years back and did really well on that for a few years. Eventually stopped because it was bloody hard work to keep it going. I remember my mum telling me that my sister said I would gain it all back when I stopped... So felt I don't need any opinions this time thank you!
