Is all-bran a good breakfast, it seems to have a lot of fibre?

what are you currently having for breakfast?

GHSP · 05/05/2024 15:35

Very sugary. Porridge is better

In general yes but it somewhat depends on your methodology. If low calorie/low fat/high fiber yes. If low carb/keto/carnivour no. Yes it does have lots of fiber.

I tried the dukan diet years ago and it specifically mentioned a small portion of all bran for fiber.

It is fairly processed but it's must be up there with the healthiest cereal choices.

134kcal per 50g serving, 1.5g fat, 5.6g protein.
It's not unhealthy however it depends what you're having with it, are you putting fruit on it? Nuts, seeds, milk....? All increases sugar, fat and calories.
If you're not calorie counting it's not that bad on it's own but it won't keep you full for very long

I've had all bran for breakfast every day since the mid eighties. It whizzes everything else through before it can stick and make you fat (science may disagree but experience makes me a believer). It's very filling and sooo delicious.

On my birthday I have it with full fat milk and a wee sprinkle of demerara sugar. Absolute heaven, sheer indulgence.

I haven't had a solid poo in decades 😂😂

I'm currently having bacon and egg for breakfast, I was having porridge and fruit but I kept overdoing it. I'm wondering about having all-bran as a snack in the day, because of the fibre. I'm calorie-counting...sounds good @MorrisZapp
