3 meals a day

Has anyone given up trying to fast or calorie count and just eaten three meals a day with successful weight loss? Im menopausal and exercise a lot (for fun) but to date have done it in a fasted state. however I’ve just read something about fasted exercise being negative, increasing cortisol and tummy fat. It also makes me reach for something sweet daily. Thought I’d shake things up a bit and try three meals a day

I can't help OP, but am interested in this too. Could you post what you read about fasted exercise increasing cortisol and tummy fat? Basically, is it peer reviewed research, or the Daily Mail? 😁

FWIW, I do lose weight eating three sensible meals a day, no snacks or calorific drinks. But I am not postmenopausal. It's slow weight loss, around half a pound a week, but I hover around BMI 23 so slow is fine for me. But I guess basically, it depends on what's in the meals!

I've done this for the last 6 weeks. It's worked well for me as it's simple and at those meals, I eat what i want.

I have 3 meals and no snacks. No calories need counting but the afternoon between lunch and dinner is the hardest period of the day. But I've stuck to it and lost 7 pounds in 6 weeks.

I also run 3-4 times a week and do 10,000 steps minimum every day.

It seems like they're talking about serious athletes here - women who train so hard their body has to choose between supplying energy to movement or to vital systems / women whose menstrual cycle has stopped working and whose thyroid function is knackered.

If you fall into that category then maybe it is worth looking for some proper research into this subject? This is definitely not me however! 😆 I will continue munching my three meals a day and exercising normally!
