Huel/attempt to lose weight

HAF1119 · 19/04/2024 22:33

Moving the thread from previous location as we were using an old thread!

A few of us either currently using/considering using Huel to aid in weight loss and just discuss anything from flavours to struggles as well as a weekly weigh in for those who want to do it

Anyone welcome if considering using Huel in anyway for a weight loss journey

Let's go for a weekly weigh in on a Friday so we aren't doing it after possible weekend cheats!

My start weight in Jan 2024 20st 1lb
Weight at weigh in 19/04 18st 7lb
Target weight 14st

Is huel any better than slimfast?

Sorry haven’t tried slim fast. What I like abitt it girl is that it’s not whey based as I’m intolerant to whey 👍🏼

WifeOfMartyr · 09/05/2024 10:47

Ok I am back on it from tomorrow. Was away this week with work so that was another disaster 😂

Weighed myself this morning.

Have 5kg to lose to get to a 'fair' weight I think

WifeOfMartyr · 09/05/2024 10:47

It's taken me years to get to this point and I really don't want to put on any more!

WifeOfMartyr · 09/05/2024 10:48

Slim fast also upset my stomach. I have a problem with dairy so Huel works well for me

That's great good luck! I have been sooooooo good this week I'm going to cryyy if I don't see something I like on the scales tomorrow morning!

HAF1119 · 10/05/2024 09:18

I have a loss finally yay!

SW 20st 1lb
CW 18st 5lb
TW 14st

Weekly weight change -2lb

I'll have to look up the human being diet!

RacingLine · 10/05/2024 10:03

friend at work's wife is doing the human being diet and has lost loads of weight. I'm not sure I could maintain it though!

well done on the weight losses :)

Fluffywithteeth · 10/05/2024 10:12

So I’ve done my weigh in and down 2.7kg to 68kg which is really pleasing! Hope everyone is doing well have a lovely weekend

RacingLine · 17/05/2024 09:06

well done that's amazing! What is your target weight - have you got far to go?

This weather is making it a lot easier to eat lovely salads. I have got rid of all the snacking food in the house (which was making it a lot harder!).

Since I've started HRT, I've definitely found it harder to lose weight - it's very frustrating.

I've lost nothing this week but I feel a bit better about it all which bodes well for next week

My weekly weigh in (better late than never) from this morning!

Another good news week :)

SW 20st 1lb
Current weight 18st 1lb
Goal weight 14st

Weekly drop 4lb

I was however unwell for 3 days this week so it's an exaggerated week but am better now and at least it's given the drop a boost hey!! Every cloud 🤣

Total weight loss just hit 2 stone, party with me??!! 💃

It's so much harder with medical things which make it harder to lose weight! And I think harder with age too... in the nicest possible way! When I was younger I could happily yo-yo and properly go off the wagon then drop the weight with minimal effort. I'm realising those days are long gone!

I think even if no weight loss to feel really encouraged that you didn't gain whilst your body is most likely to gain right now!

Well done on getting rid of the snacks, sometimes it helps to have a few nuts when you're desperate.. Keep going!

@HAF1119 thanks! To be honest I’m finding it ok. I was really worried about small
portions but to be honest it hasn’t felt that way and I haven’t felt hungry. So 1m half way through phase 2 (which lasts 2 weeks) and then I move to phase 3 which is less restrictive for at least 10’weeks and then you move into the plan for life . So for example
today I had cherries and walnuts for breakfast, lunch was smoked salmon avocado cucumber and carrots and an apple and dinner was sea bass with veggies . I’m quite amazed to have lost those kilos though as I’m in hrt and have deinitkey found weight loss more difficult as a result

Somweekly weigh in and down 1.4kg to 66.6kg - really pleased with that. So that’s nearly 8kg in total from very first starting in April. Moving in to phase 3 of the diet now which includes a feast meal - a lovely bbq planned for tomorrow night! Hope everyone is well x

RacingLine · 24/05/2024 16:30

That's an amazing weight loss in a short time well done.

I've lost 1.5kg to my weigh in today which is a relief as I was going nowhere but I had put on a kilo before I lost the 1.5kg 😂

Just need to keep it up now

Have reassessed my target but have 4.5kg to go

HAF1119 · 24/05/2024 18:07

Well done @RacingLine @Fluffywithteeth

I've this week gone up from 18st 1lb to 18st 2lb but given I dropped 5lb the week before and couldn't eat much as I was unwell I was expecting I may have an increase as I ate a bit more just trying to get energy back up!

Still looking good overall!

OP posts:
RacingLine · 24/05/2024 19:04

Better to be healthy for sure @HAF1119

Fluffywithteeth · 31/05/2024 08:31

Oh in gutted! Put on 0.6kg this week. Apparently quite common with this diet when you switch form phase 2 to 3 but still 😞 will stick to the plan though and trust the process!

Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend! X

HAF1119 · 31/05/2024 22:07

I did weigh this morning...

I was good this week, so a bit disappointed!

Last week 18st 2lb this week 18st 3lb 🤣 WHY?! Hoping the scales were having an off day and that next week I'll have a really good result to make up for it. Sigh!

OP posts:
RacingLine · 01/06/2024 08:44

I'm up 0.5kg but didn't make a huge effort this week as have been trying to rest a bit more. Didn't eat any crap though (no sweets/biscuits etc) but daughter baked a load of stuff for work and left the rest here and that was my downfall! She has found a room in a house and is moving out in a few weeks time so there will be no more baking temptations then

@Fluffywithteeth is that out of the vegetable stage and into the meal stage? I only briefly looked at that one but did see a lot of people having success with it!

I've pre made a salad for me and ds for lunch to try and be good today and have a pasta and roasted vegetable bake for dinner

HAF1119 · 02/06/2024 22:32

I recently got bloods done as my weight gain has been massive, over a reasonably short period of time, and I'm regularly doing 800cals a day, 1200 makes me put on weight. I have underactive thyroid and a couple of other things health wise. HOPING that in a few months my weight will be able to drop :( am reasonably deflated at the moment. Though I've done well in terms of overall loss it's on such low calories!! I need them to be able to come up a bit as I can't stay at 800, especially when some days I'm on my feet 6 or 7 hours!

Fingers crossed
