God. I'm sorry to do this. Constipation.

I understand that it's a common side effect for people doing any kind of weight loss injection. I am on Mounjaro and am consistently constipated. It is not fun. It is painful. I think it's also resulting in headaches.

Do people take a low level something every day? Or eat grapes every day? How can I avoid this? I'm going to be doing the injections for months and need to figure it out.

2 kiwi fruit a day, including the skin, every day helps keep you regular, although it can take a few days to take effect.

Yellow dragon fruit are very effective for constipation.

Chia seeds -2 table spoons stirred into a small glass of warm water and drunk quickly before they swell- are also good to keep you regular.

If you are struggling though, just get some fybogel and take that every day.

Decent magnesium supplement. I take Magnesium Glycinate 3-in-1 Complex - 1800mg Magnesium Supplements as Magnesium Bisglycinate, Magnesium Citrate & Magnesium Malate - 90 Vegan Capsules, Triple High Absorption - 384mg Elemental, UK Made amzn.eu/d/eZJFSoE. Start with one for a week before going to two. Also add some seeds such as linseed and or flax to your diet. A teaspoonful once or twice a day.

Fybogel. Lemon is nicest. Can also get Psyllium husk capsules but need to take a few. Or senna at night .

Thank you for replying. Dates and prime juice just arrived in the Tesco order. I'll get Fybrogel and magnesium at the weekend! I intend to be prepped going forwards...

I swear by two kiwis a day as well. It really helped me when I first started.

Ginflinger · 16/04/2024 22:18

Kiwi eaters, do you literally just eat the whole thing, complete with hairy skin??

I'm 13 months in (and lost 35% of my body weight). It does get better but sometimes you do need to help things along.
My top tips are:
Magnesium citrate in the evening, more often than not (although some people say don't take magnesium regularly). It's supposed to help with sleep also.
Drink more water than you ever thought humanly possible.
Dulcoease capsules. Mild but effective. All other medication made me horribly crampy and feeling quite ill.
Suger free Werther's originals creamy toffees. 19 kcal a piece, and three or four of them tend to have a good effect the next day.
