I started on Saxenda and used it successfully until it became unavailable. Didn't take anything else for about 4 months and then Wegovy came about so I've used that since. I think I prefer the Wegovy. I've lost just under 3 stone in 16 months (in the four months I wasn't taking anything I put back about 7lbs).

I'm 59 - have just had full hip replacement (so was difficult to exercise for a while - and post op) 5'9" and had around 4 stone to lose to hit a healthy BMI.
I love the stuff.

Also meant to say - I seem less nauseous on Wegovy. But Wegovy seems to be stronger in terms of taking any craving away. I have had zero craving on Wegovy. Something I never thought would happen is me not even thinking about food and Wegovy is the winner for me on that front ! Good luck with whatever you decide 😊

In clinical trials Mounjaro has been found to be most effective for weight loss https://www.secondnature.io/guides/lifestyle/glp1s/best-weight-loss-injections-2024
I understand it is also less likely to cause side effects than the others too.

Mounjaro has the addition of an extra hormone GIP ,as well as the GLP1 all the others contain. As this acts as an anti sickness drug in it's own right, it also seems to offset some side effects.

Most people on Mounjaro seem to suffer less side effects than those purely on GLP1 meds, and the research shows people lose weight more successfully on Mounjaro than other drugs.

I've just swapped from Saxenda to Mounjaro. I think Saxenda is being discontinued and replaced by Wegovy. They are produced by the same pharma company, Novo Nordisk. Mounjaro is produced by Eli Lilly.

I chose Mounjaro over Wegovy due to the extra hormone and the research shows a greater potential for weight loss. Whilst I appreciate not having to inject every day, the weekly injection is quite a large one, which I hadn't actually thought about. However, it's not really an issue for me. I think I'm fortunate in that I've had no side effects with either drug.

Thanks anyone for the input

I managed to find saxenda again and bought 10 pens!

I do like saxenda as it's flexible and I can eke it out a bit to make it a bit more affordable.

I lost a stone on 1.8mg and then saxenda just disappeared.

Wegovy and mounjaro seem to be a bit more expensive and you have to take the full dose weekly so no eeking out? I hear about counting click but don't full understand.

I think I will finished these 10 pens and then move to Mounjaro
