Looking for advice re: cutting down breakfast

I lost 4.5 stone over 2 years, but have put a stone back on recently. I logged my breakfast today, and it was 1100 kcals, how can I cut down? I think it's related to feeling low, but I can't do much about that.

Carbs isn’t going to make you loose weight…eggs yog cereal fruit are much healthier if your trying to loose weight

As someone that's never had a BMI as high as 21 in my life - this is utter nonsense.

The amount of times people eat eggs they actively don't want instead of just a couple slices of toast boggles my mind.

I thought this too. Must be a wind up surely.

I'm sure it is too lol

Whoa. I'd get rid of the carbs and have a protein based breakfast and aim for 250-500 calories.
For example I have 50gr smoked salmon, an egg and a handful of tomatoes. This keeps me going til lunch, though you could add a banana at mid morning for a snack to sustain you.
But if you love porridge then just stick to one bowl. But protein does keep you fuller longer.

It's way too much in terms of volume for one meal. The easiest way to cut down calories is to drop 4 naans.
There's nothing wrong with porridge and banana for breakfast, but with the naans you have met your daily carb intake in one meal. What about the rest of the day?

I honestly would not be able to eat so much in one go.

Lilyargin · 11/04/2024 09:13

What? You must know that most people don't eat four naans for breakfast - mini or not.
Just eat the porridge with a banana.

Cereals are carbs.

PineappleTime · 11/04/2024 09:17

I mean...sorry but how do you need advice on how to eat less breakfast? Just...eat less of it? That's a hell of a lot of breakfast. I could definitely eat a large breakfast, I am HUNGRY when I wake up, but I don't, because I'd end up either not being able to eat proper lunch and dinner or I'd put on loads of weight. I eat toast every day so it's not an issue of carbs but if you find you're still hungry after a normal breakfast try changing to high protein low carb and see if that helps. You may have to sit with some hunger though.

Youdontevengohere · 11/04/2024 09:17

I don't really know what sort of advice you're looking for OP. That's a huge breakfast and the easiest way to ‘cut down breakfast’ is to eat less of it 🤷🏻‍♀️. Is that a normal day’s breakfast for you?

You know it's a wind up when OP disappears 😂😂🤣

ArtyWren · 11/04/2024 10:22

Can ask, what do you eat throughout the rest of the day - lunch, dinner and in between snacks?

henlake7 · 11/04/2024 14:52

Must be a wind up.....or somebody eating their feelings coz they were 'feeling low'....in which case they probably already know what to do!

Nothing wrong with carbs though, or big breakfasts...within reason.
I have a first breakfast of shredded wheat, prunes and plant milk then a second breakfast of oats, apple, raspberries, protein powder and plant milk and Im losing weight fine!
