Hi everyone so after consideration I have plucked up the courage and decided to buy the wegovy it has arrived I looking for tips on meals and best time of day to take it I'm thinking Friday evening before bed if anything was to happen I'm home st the week ? I'm not happy about side affects but can't be worse then nausea in pregnancy as that was hard for me lol I would love to lose weight and I'm struggling hence why I decided to eat clean and try the injections as a booster thank you oh to add my down fall are fizzy drinks and carbs.

I've just gone up to wegovy 0.5
I cut out all sugar
An example of what I eat in a day

Breakfast :
Fruit (berries & a banana)with natural fat free yogurt and small amount of walnuts
Lunch:
2 eggs done in someway (usually scrambled with some spinach
Dinner:
1 chicken fillet with two types of veggies of some kind
Another example:
Chilli con carne with lots of veg and homemade sauce with side salad or rice

Snack if needed is either berries as super low calorie, yogurt or eggs, although I rarely need a snack whilst on this wegovy. I've upped my water intake but I use sugar free water enhancers

I'm losing around 3-4 lbs a week so far
Starting weight 14.4ish
Current weight is 13.3

Carbs I still have I just minimise them, for example I stay away from breads mostly but I have some rice, if having pasta I just ensure I'm having more of the protein and veg than I have the carbs as pasta isn't going to give me he same nutrients same goes for rice

2024istheyearforme · 03/04/2024 15:09

I've not had any side effects, maybe a little constipation but nothing that's caused me problems.

I take it every Wednesday just because that's when I received the first dose but my days are all the same, id choose to take it to e day before your biggest eating/grazing days are as that's when I feel it working the most. Most people take it Friday as weekends they are home with the fridge all day 🤣

AhBiscuits · 03/04/2024 16:01

I take it Monday morning. I only really feel a bit sick for a couple of days after but it hasn't stopped me doing anything.

beebee83 · 03/04/2024 18:42

Drink lots of water.
Eat protein and fibre.

Some people don’t get any side effects. I did find I couldn’t drink anything fizzy or I would feel nauseous.

Good luck.

beebee83 · 03/04/2024 18:49

@Peridot1 oh thank you for that tip very appreciated. Thank you

You can do it. It's a very effective drug and the losses soon add up. I'm only 11lbs from my goal weight now and it's really been worth the side effects.

DamnItBetsy · 03/04/2024 19:26

I took my first ever dose of 0.25 ten minutes ago. I’m so nervous I’m going to feel ill, but so excited to see if it works for me.

2024istheyearforme · 03/04/2024 20:55

Just took my dose of 0.5, hope it's the same as previous dose as I was doing well with no side effects but we will see :D aiming for 8-10lbs lost within april, would be super happy with that and feel it's in reach

beebee83 · 04/04/2024 09:20

After taking my first 0.25 dose last night, I feel so, so tired today. Is that normal?

Also, for those who have had side effects, are they worse the day after injection and then wear off as the week goes on, or do they build and get worse as the week goes on?

Sandwichgen · 04/04/2024 13:03

I took my first dose 8 days ago and my second yesterday. Tiredness is definitely a thing. Also nausea a bit the first couple of days

so far have not lost anything, but they do say not to expect anything on the first dose. Post menopause, and with diabetes, I suspect that will be particularly true.

the only thing g I can definitely say I can’t fancy now is coffee.

Is the tiredness constant? Or just the day after injection? I can’t function at this level of exhausted! Will also be gutted if I go off coffee, I love coffee.

Fingers crossed for you that you start losing weight this week.

AhBiscuits · 04/04/2024 14:54

For me I can function, so it's maybe not at a constantly high level. But I am tired pretty much all the time.

Sandwichgen · 04/04/2024 15:16

I remember feeling it last week in the first few days but not afterwards. It hasn’t hit this week (yet)

fingers crossed for all of us !

beebee83 · 04/04/2024 18:42

@Sandwichgen fingers crossed for us of us. We can do this.

I did just resist the reduced Easter Eggs in the supermarket so that’s a good sign …

beebee83 · 04/04/2024 22:56

@Sandwichgen woohooo that's a result right there well done let's see if I don't cave which I won't as I really want to focus.

Feeling more positive today. Not woken up as exhausted as I did yesterday. Slight headache but nothing too bad. Fingers crossed that’s as bad as it gets for me 🤞

beebee83 · 05/04/2024 19:20

@DamnItBetsy I really hope you feel better today, ok so iv taken the injection how ever I clicked to 0.25mg and inserted in to my tummy and I pressed button I didn't leave long enough little bit of medicine was on needle is this normal am I doing it right lol 😅

OP posts:
DamnItBetsy · 05/04/2024 20:04

There was still a drop when I took the needle out too, so assuming that’s normal. Fingers crossed for you that you don’t get side effects. I’ve been fine all day, maybe a tiny bit nauseous, and now have a headache. I’m quite prone to headaches anyway so don’t know if it’s anything to do with the Wegovy or not.

2024istheyearforme · 05/04/2024 20:08

It can be normal but i usually press button for as long as it takes for it all to dispense and then i count to 10 and take it out
