Struggling to loose weight

Hi I had my first DD1 in 2019 and was pretty much my pre-pregnancy weight of around 50kg straight away. I breastfed and when I stopped she was almost 3 and ended up around 56/57kg.

I have always been very careful with my weight and feel horrendous and hate my body. My old life sitting at a desk meant it was easy to forget to eat. But now it is the constant preparation of food and snacks for little ones - I cant just forget to eat.

Had my second DD2 in 2023. I am now sitting at around 58.5kg. I'm pretty short so I feel awful. I even wonder if my hormones are making it harder as I don't feel that I eat that much.

Not sure what I'm hoping for but writing this anyway.

If your weight is going up then you eat more than you need. If you are not up to counting calories, try keeping a food diary for a week? Write down everything you eat, including all the bits and pieces you taste when cooking and so on.
might be surprised by how much you actually eat during a day.

You’re only just over 9 stone. What height are you?

I’m 5ft 2 and at 9 stone -ish , I’m a size 6-10 with a 26 (ish) inch waist and a healthy BMI but I appreciate people have different body compositions.

I can understand OP - I’m 161 cm and at 58 kg I already had a small double chin, saddle bags, sizeable love handles and looked plump overall.

@CortieTat Ah really…I don’t look chubby until I get way over 10 stone…closer to 10 stone 7.

If OP has similar measurements to you she might want to focus on toning and doing some weights, Pilates etc and steering clear of sugar, reducing ultra processed foods and wine which can all cause bloating and puffiness.

I know I’m fortunate to have higher muscle density so I will typically be heavier than the average women of a similar size, and therefore I guess not the best comparison but 58kg at 161 cm isn’t overweight. I just checked and it gives a BMI of 22.

I'm also 161cm. I know its not overweight but I don't have much muscle and generally feel so different from what I was, like its not my body. I just want to feel like me again and be less avoidant of mirrors.
