We’re a quarter of the way through the year and I feel this date is a great one to start on. I had a baby last July and would love to be 10 stone or under by her first birthday so that’s my target. I have two stone to lose.

Yes please. I’ve been looking at fast 800 although debating whether to sign up on the website or just try it on my own. I’ve been tracking my calories and I’m shocked, I really didn’t think that I was eating that much and thought that I was getting more protein than I am. I work out a lot but I need to change my diet.

I have 1.5-2 stone to lose.

ChanelNo19EDT · 31/03/2024 22:10

Yes, I just need to undo some "creep" but back on board from tomorrow

Weelegs29 · 31/03/2024 22:14

I had already planned to start tomorrow but the extra motivation from everyone else would definitely help me out big time. Have a 'big' birthday coming up early July and would like to have 1-1.5 stone off by then. Good luck everyone!

Hedonism · 31/03/2024 22:16

Oh Monday 1st. Good plan! I have 1 stone to lose.

I need to get back to:
3 sensible meals per day
Exercising 4-5x per week
Alcohol at weekends only.

Simple?!

Wildflower86 · 31/03/2024 22:18

Great idea. I'm in, I have no scales at the moment but definitely need to loose alot

Tatapie · 31/03/2024 22:26

Ok great idea. I need some accountability and shed some heft before friends summer wedding in 12 weeks so a stone off would be awesome !

Rainyspringflowers · 01/04/2024 05:53

Here we are!

Both my children are unwell which is making life tricky. On the one hand I’ve no time to eat but exhaustion isn’t good for weight loss either.

I’m in I need to lose1-1.5 stone by the 1st of July - I also need somewhere to be accountable so when I saw this I thought it was perfect x 😅

Hedonism · 01/04/2024 07:12

Hope your DC feel better soon @Rainyspringflowers, it can be hard to look after yourself when you are looking after other people.

I am going to start by putting all of the mini eggs and Easter sweets into a tin so I can't just walk past and eat them absentmindedly. Then I'm going to eat a bowl of muesli!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/04/2024 08:34

Me please! 🙏
I started slimming world in September, weighing 11.9.
I’ve dipped around, regaining 8 pounds in December, (so effectively starting again) and then have had very slow but steady weight loss since January. Weighed 10.11 (which was where I was on 1st December) on Thursdays weigh in. Weigh 11,2.5 today 😦

must be a lot of water retention, but still. It’s very annoying. I exercise loads. I workout at home 2-3 times a week, I walk 3 -5 miles every day with my dog, I ran ten miles yesterday….. I just eat far too much and when I eat sugary/chocolate/bread and alcohol, I just pile weight on that takes me ages to shift again.

my plan for April is to cut back the carbs, cut out the sugar, stop drinking again (I did from new year to last Thursday without a drink!) and keep up with my running and home workouts. I’ll still weigh in at group because I like the accountability but to be honest, I can’t manage the ‘unlimited’ aspect of the plan and will be calorie counting and tracking my protein intake. I need to aim low for calorie counting because I am so incredibly bad at calorie counting. So I aim for 1400 but probably have 1600 a day.

I need a kick up the butt basically. In 8 weeks I go away for a lovely city break in Edinburgh with my dh and kids- I’d love to lose 8lbs by then (from my pre-Easter weight!) and then a further 8 weeks from then is our summer holiday. I don’t have that many pounds to lose so I could be at target of 10.3 by then but I need to stop messing around.

SmallSoupcon · 01/04/2024 11:56

Yes I'm in! I've been yoyoing since Christmas, either not eating at all or over-eating. I have a wedding 1st week of June so just enough time to shed a stone I think, if I do it right.

Starting today by setting up My Fitness Pal with current weight, and tracking my food. I'm deliberately trying not to go extreme this time, so had porridge for breakfast with raisins and 1tbsp maple syrup. Filling enough to stave off snack attacks while sweet enough not to feel depressing! I make up bags of an instant porridge mix (wazz some oats in the food processor with skimmed milk powder) and put it as a recipe in MFP. With the raisins and maple syrup it's 336 cals.

My two biggest challenges are planning ahead and night time binge eating. My tactics is to eat more earlier so I'm not scavenging later.

Starting weight 12st13lbs. Good luck everyone!

Wildflower86 · 01/04/2024 17:31

Hope ur DC get well soon...I've had a bad day, eaten some chocolate egg. .and fingers...oh dear 🙈

Rainyspringflowers · 01/04/2024 19:59

Easily done!

DD was sick on me this morning so I bought a new top - only from new look but there was an offer to buy two for £18 so got two really nice tops. Strange how that’s really motivated me!

I had a good day, I ended up on 1550 cals, 130g protein. My food was good. I had a very few little crumbs of chocolate when dividing up dcs eggs, and I had 2 Ferraro rocher mini praline eggs. I had roast lamb with loads of spring veg and no potatoes for both my meals today to use up leftovers. I walked the dog twice and did a Caroline girvan workout, I really enjoyed that.

tomorrow- I am on annual leave til Thursday so tomorrow I am planning to run in the morning, take the dc out, and do a workout in the afternoon. No dog walk as she goes to daycare. Food- well today I made delicious overnight oats by soaking the oats into stewed rhubarb overnight, then this morning I added skyr yoghurt so it was super creamy and delicious. I’m going to do that again for breakfast, have a big salad with some protein for lunch, and dinner will be a Homemade chicken dhansak with loads of veg.

Hedonism · 02/04/2024 07:08

Day 2 here we come!

I did pretty well yesterday, I just need to get in the zone and stay there.

SmallSoupcon · 03/04/2024 20:57

Updating for accountability!

I've set myself a target of 1500 cals a day. I'm a terrible evening snacker (an ADHD dopamine-seeking behaviour, but it still needs to stop!). Evenings are when my calories can totally go out the window, no matter what I've had in the day.

Today I bought some snack foods like popcorn, dark chocolate and nuts, and bagged them into portion sizes. Im hoping it's a tactic that can help me keep control.

Monday 1200 cals
Tues 2200 cals
Today 1650

Slow lifestyle changes, not starvation for quick gains (she tells herself).

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/04/2024 21:14

the last few days have been good here, I’ve stuck to my calories, I have run and done a workout each day, and walked the dog. I’m weighing in tomorrow and while I don’t think I’ll see a loss, I think I’ve limited the damage a bit!

Rainyspringflowers · 04/04/2024 02:49

@thenewaveragebear1983 that food all sounds really nice!

I have been unwell and so has baby DD and my DS(3) has an ear infection so haven’t wanted to eat as my throat hurts and haven’t had much time anyway. DD is now awake and she seems better and I’m so relieved I don’t care she’s wide awake.
