Wegovy - possible side effects - not sure whether to stop

Hi there. Looking for some perspectives.
i started wegovy 3 months ago and pushing on for having lost 2.5stone so really pleased. Currently on 1.0mg.

in the past week I’ve had severe diahorrea , vomiting, feeling very unwell. D&v has stopped but still feeling fatigued.
while this could be a bug , no one else in the house has developed it. It’s also the 3rd time since starting wegovy I’ve had diaorehha , although the other times have been short lived and I felt well.

im really worried this is the medication , there’s a lot of negative press about wegovy just now and I think that’s fuelling my anxiety.
has anyone had severe symptoms so far in (I’ve been on 1.0mg for 4 weeks).
thanks in advance .

Hi sorry you're not feeling well. I can't really comment on the Wegovy from experience as I only started today.
But it sounds more like a bug than side effect if you've tolerated that dose for 4 weeks already.
I would expect side effects from meds to come on starting or with an increased dose, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
So maybe you've just had a nasty bug.
To be on the safe side you could always stick on this dose for a bit longer and see if things settle down.

No I've never had a side effect like that. Wegovy slows digestive transit so I'd be surprised if it caused diarrhoea but who knows.

I had to give up after 3 weeks on 0.5mg as the diarrhoea kicked in. Embarrassingly, I had a couple of accidents in bed too. Not pleasant. I also developed a rash which I can only attribute to Wegovy. Since giving up I've felt so much better. I didn't realise how ill it was making me feel. This probably what you wanted to hear though!

I didn’t feel good at all and would be sick a lot, and it did affect my bowels but the other way I had severe constipation and gallbladder pains. I don’t take it anymore and have still lost more weight and don’t have to tolerate the side effects. You could cut back to 0.5 and see how that affects you before deciding if to stop

like Most drugs there are side effects and everyone tolerates things differently.

Thanks everyone.
@MiltonNorthern diarrhoea is common side effect of wegovy , it seems to affect everyone different .

@Menora i was worried about gallbladder issues- was it abdominal pain you had ? I’ve not any bad pain.

i think I’ll suggest to my prescriber about going down to 0.5mg and see how I go with that. I might consider stopping it though if symptoms continue

I have it up after two weeks as I felt so rubbish - tummy in knots and constant nausea. I don't understand how people put up with it for so long.
