Wegovy/ozempic sulphur burps and diarrhoea

My husband started wegovy about 8 weeks ago and has just been hit by awful (constant) sulphur burps and diarrhoea. It’s been going for about a week now and he is completely off of his food.

We’ve all eaten the same food so can rule out a bug. I also understand that it’s a common side effect.

He’s read up about probiotics and bought some today to take but has anyone had this that can reassure me it will pass?

We knew to expect side effects but this has been awful and near totally debilitating.

Anyone reassurance or tips?

He was due to go to up to 1.0mg yesterday but just can’t in the state he’s in

I don't get the diarrhoea but I do get the sulphur burps and they are awful for anyone in my vicinity. I've been taking saxenda then wegovy for 15 months now and they are worse with wegovy. I'd be very interested if anyone knows how to lessen them.

I get awful sulphur burps and I found that having a yakult drink every day got rid pretty quickly.

You can minimize it by absolutely changing your diet and reducing portion size.

Any sort of fat really sits in your stomach forever. It pushes you to eat protein and veg and to cut down how much you eat altogether.

Or sometimes I just think fuck it, and have some Gaviscon.

Also that's a lot quicker than I went up to 1mg. I think I spent more than 2 months on 0.25, same for 0.5, same for 0.75 - you can find click charts online that help you modify your doses.

He needs to drop right back to where it was tolerable and go slow.

I had sulphur burps when I started wegovy. They’ve gone now, thankfully because they were utterly rancid. I’m just about to move from 1.7mg to 2.4mgs so hoping they don’t return.

Don't move up a dose until the side effects are manageable.

@Weightlosssideeffect did this ever subside? I'm having the same at the moment, it's been really awful! Feel like giving up on Wegovy and it's only week two but not sure how much more I can take!

I get exactly this and have stopped and started Ozempic a couple of times because of it. I actually wished I'd powered through and not stopped each time I got diahorea. I find a half dose of Imodium enough to bring it under control now.

@HolidayHappy123 oh it's so bad I've felt like giving up! I'm only on my second week of 0.25 I'm dreading going up a dose as i'm not actually feeling any effect of the 0.25 dose other than the horrendous side effects.

I'm back at work tomorrow after being off for a week on holiday and don't know how I'm going to manage!
