I woke up today with that 'I can't cope with my fatness anymore' moment.

I weigh 12st 9 3/8 lbs

I feel truly disgusted with myself.

Would love a bit of company if anyone would like to join me.

I will. I currently weigh nearly the same as you - 12st 11lbs (down from 15st 9lb) but am struggling with the final 3 stone and have fallen off the wagon a bit over the last few weeks.

I am aiming for a final weight of 10st.

I am on a couple of these threads and have found it really helpful and supportive 😊

What's your plan/goal etc? X

Valhalla17 · 12/03/2024 07:45

Me please. Saw a pic of myself a few weeks ago and was shocked. I'm about 180lbs and used to be 130lbs 😥 I've also got terrible tummy symptoms as I've been eating so much crap thr last few weeks. I've had enough, my body has had enough too.

I'm planning on a bit of keto/low carb, but not too mad...so 50g carb a day as I get the shakes if I don't have enough. Then I plan on doing some long walks every day, at least 1hr. Calories 1300 per day. This is day 1...

Captainspaulding · 12/03/2024 07:49

I'll join you..I currently weigh roughly the same. Aiming for even a 1 st loss. I try to follow sw at home as I hate the groups but never seem to see it through 😫

ragdoll12345 · 12/03/2024 08:08

Yes I would like to 'sign up' please. I am the heaviest I have ever been at just over 12st, clothes all feel tight. I would like to loose at least 1 stone, hopefully 1.5 stone. Im not one for clubs either although my daughter is doing well with SW

TheWood · 12/03/2024 08:56

Ooh, I have friends!

My plan is to try the one meal a day which I will have at tea time. I eat far too much. This way I could have pretty much what ever I fancy and not have to worry about cutting lots of things out of my diet because they are not diet friendly.

I don't have much of a problem with over eating savoury food. Sweet stuff is my downfall. I just scoff chocolate and biscuits all of the time, have recently got into eating ice cream every evening. I am so addicted to sugar, I'm not one of those people who can just eat one biscuit etc, I need to go cold turkey and just ditch the sweet food.

I feel like I've pushed myself too far, my body isn't happy and I feel awful.

I have also just joined the OMAD (one meal a day) thread.

Anyone else doing OMAD? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4993552-anyone-else-doing-omad

Yes chocolate and sweet stuff is my weak point too. When we sit down in the evenings to watch tv that is my downfall

Me too. I consume a considerable amount of calories scoffing chocolate.

I would like to join you, I am 13 stone and need to lose 3 stone. I have lost half a stone already, but it still seems a long way to go. I'm following Slimming World plan more or less. Not officially because I hate the group thing, and don't see the point of doing it online if I can do it by myself. I still have the books from when I did it before. It's going quite well at the moment, aiming for a loss of 1-2lb a week.

TheWood · 12/03/2024 12:30

@Nellieinthebarn well done already losing half a stone. Glad that you are joining us.

I have tried omad here and there @TheWood but I haven't managed to be consistent. Some days it's easy if I'm super busy at work, but other days I can't wait....especially on a rainy cold day I'm looking for something 😂

I've done ok today so far, 1 slice of toast with scrambled egg/coffee...a salad with eggs and new potatoes for lunch (m&s 172 cals), apple and another coffee. I've done a 30min walk, will do another later and then have dance class. Prob having fish and veg for dinner. Then that should be it for today...at least dance this evening means there will be no chance of a late night binge of crap..

How are you all getting on today with food and movement?

TheWood · 12/03/2024 20:01

Well, today has been a success.

I had my omad around 4 o'clock. I made a spaghetti bolognese, it tasted so good having waited all day to eat. I didn't cover it in grated cheese or have garlic bread, which would usually be standard.

I'm going to watch tele in bed now. There is a packet of unopened mcvities chocolate biscuits in the kitchen shouting very loudly at me to eat them. I'm not giving in. I can't fail on day one.

Hope that you are all doing ok ?

@TheWood Ooh well done, that is unbelievably strong willed.

I don't think I could do one meal a day, especially if I had biscuits in the house. I have been known to make a late night mercy dash to the garage for chocolate. So I'd have to have and empty larder and my car keys confiscated as well!

I've done ok today, eaten well with loads of fresh fruit and veg, but lowish carbs and low fat, and high fibre, which is the Slimming World way in a nutshell.

I'm not taking any notice of the batshit rules like mashing a banana suddenly makes it the equivalent of a sherry trifle. And also not eating those disgusting mugshots and the like, that are free food and full of crap.

TheWood · 12/03/2024 20:29

To be honest @Nellieinthebarn I didn't realise that there were biscuits in the house. They were lurking under a packet of wraps in the bread bin. They are sent to test me 😁

I was on holiday last week, so not a good week diet wise. However delighted to find I had lost another 2lbs. So that is 9lb all together. Getting back on the wagon tomorrow.

bluefrog11 · 23/03/2024 22:37

Hi @TheWood good luck with your weight loss, you can do it!!! Remember the Kate Moss mantra “Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels”….. I know this sort of thing is bang out of fashion these days but I can’t help my 1990s upbringing!🤣 But seriously well done, any weight loss is fantastic and bloody hard work. I’ve got few lbs to lose right now and am really motivated for the summer.

I just wanted to say I struggle with sweet things too and have recently found Killa Vanilla. I promise I don’t work for them (!) but it’s honestly great. It’s an inhaler stick that tricks your brain into thinking you’ve had your sweet fix. It smells lush too. After I’ve eaten something healthy and protein-y I just want it under my nose for a minute and job done. I was a total chocolate fiend a few weeks back (….think scoffing cooking chocolate at midnight because that’s all i had in!) but this has massively reduced what I’m craving. Worth a try for £10!
