HRT and weight gain

I started losing weight about 2 years a go, I've recently (about 2 months ago) started estrogen patches and the progestogen only pill to balance my hormones due to raging pms (I assume due to the beginning of peri menopause)
I've already started to gain weight, I don't believe I'm eating much more to cause the weight gain but what can I do to ensure I don't pile it all back on.
Currently calorie counting and on Orlistat.
Also have an underactive thyroid so already struggling.

I didn't gain anything when I was on HRT (only took it for about six months). I had patches.

HRT stopped my weight gain in its tracks.
I haven't lost any weight in two years but have stopped gaining. I'm not sure anecdotal answers will help much here OP. I don't know if anyone who has complained of weight gain in HRT. I think you need to Google the effects of HRT on weight. I'm assuming studies have been done.

The key is to be in a calorie deficit or at least to match your calories in/out so that you don't gain. Do you do any exercise? Eat protein at every meal, which can fill you up? Drink enough water? I've been on HRT for 6 months and I do sometimes get cravings for crap food but not gaining weight. I don't know much about underactive thyroid so apologies if what I've suggested wouldn't work.

HRT not known for gaining weight, more the opposite
