Been so good all week, have I ruined it with a binge?

All week I've been calorie counting and have kept under and lost a pound after weighing Friday. Last night in the evening I had a few hours of going crazy and just binge eating. I've undone all my good eating during the week and put the pound back on haven't I?

Nah, the body doesn’t put on a pound of fat overnight. If the scales are higher it might be because of salty food making you hold water, same with alcohol. You might have slept badly, you might need a big poo Grin

Dont beat yourself up about eating. Just get back on your plan. Shit happens and it’s better to get used to imperfect action.

It might suggest that your calorie intake is too small if you’re binging.

Do not weigh yourself for the next few days as it will show the uneaten food, water retention etc. Weigh in a week and I’m sure you will have either maintained or continued your loss (depends on the other days obviously). Please don’t feel bad, it happens!

You’re not eating enough if you’re binge eating.

I would guess that you didn’t binge on chicken and vegetables. So eat more whole food at mealtimes until you’re full. It will help stop your body panicking at the low calories and triggering a binge.

What did you binge?
If I’ve over eaten a little and been healthy most of the week I remind myself of the saying: you won’t get fat by eating a bad meal just like you won’t get thin by eating a salad. 😊

Tomorrow is a new day, don’t beat yourself up? Do you allow yourself a small treat when you are trying to lose weight? I find this helps to prevent binges.
