Anyone doing Slimpod and fancy a thread?

I started earlier this week and I’m feeling optimistic but my goodness the Facebook group is not my vibe at all. So, I thought I’d ask if anyone on here is doing it and fancies a thread to discuss and keep track?

I mean, I completely understand the psychology around protecting a positive mental attitude, building a sense of achievement, etc - it's all in the pods - but they asked me for feedback, and then smacked it down. One approach isn't going to work exactly the same for everybody, so you'd think they'd want insight into how to tweak it but no.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up deleted - am sure there's some fairly active social media monitoring.

don't go back on the FB page atm then; it's full of medjool date recipes!!!

I have been inspired to ignore my FOMO and mute the facebook group. It makes me feel like I'm in a cult. I am going back to just focusing on the pods and maybe try the early videos again, avoiding the ones where the weird food fads appear. I do really like the pods and have slept much better and felt better in myself since I started to listen to them.

PuneorPlayonWords · 30/04/2024 16:16

Hello all. I started the free trial today. I listened to the first pod and the stress buster pod earlier. I'm going to watch the video later. I don't do FB and sounds like I won't be missing anything! Am I right that I listen to the same pod every day for the full week and watch different videos?

Hi, yes that's it, listen to your pod/s every day, write down your wins and watch the videos. @DrFroggy I also like the pods too, very helpful for getting to sleep. I found that setting some intentions for the day is also useful and if/when I achieve them, they become my wins. The videos weren't much of a revelation and some feel like absolute fillers, but occasionally there are really good ones. I quite like some of the interviews Sandra does with the 'success stories' too.

OK, great, @Tinytigertail thanks. I have a lovely notebook I was looking to use so it now has a purpose 😊

You sound like me, I love a notebook!

Treaclepie19 · 01/05/2024 20:48

Ugh I'm feeling very deflated. I'm on day 14 now and just feel as addicted to sugar as ever and after seeing the fb group, I feel like it's just yet another cult weight loss fad 🤦‍♀️

PuneorPlayonWords · 01/05/2024 22:46

That sucks for you @Treaclepie19 . I hope you find your mojo with it.

Today was my first full day and I managed to avoid all the goodies. I thought about them a lot, but I didn't eat them. I don't know if that's just first day or the beginning of a shift in mindset, but it's better than nothing. Going to listen to my pod when I head up to bed in a bit.

And @Tinytigertail ,I bought myself a lovely new pen to go with my notebook! It could become expensive quickly if I swap buying a bar of dairymilk for stationery 😂

Just found this thread. I'm on my second week, finding it good so far. Much less snacking on sweet stuff. I even turned down an apple turnover which is unheard of! Had a couple of sips of wine and threw away the rest. What is happening to me? Not weighed myself yet but don't think it's done miracles so far. I know that's not really the point of it, to give rapid weight loss. I agree the Facebook group is utter wank. I'll never be eating spinach, broccoli and avocado every day that's for sure. I don't care who tells me to... Such a weird and stupid rule. The pods are really nice and relaxing and I think it might be helping my mood a bit too.

DrFroggy · 05/05/2024 12:35

@Treaclepie19 after reading this thread I muted the FB groups which is the best thing I ever did - it was mental. I feel much better about it now. I think it’s supposed to take a while to work for some people. In one of the videos she does say to keep an eye on what you are eating until you feel ready to trust yourself.

Louloujj · 05/05/2024 12:47

I am also eating less sugar. Which is my main issue. I am feeling hopeful, but not mental like the Facebookers! 😂

To be fair they say it's not a quick fix. Lifelong healthy eating is a long term goal and takes time to adjust to.

I also left the FB group, even though I do eat broccoli and spinach every day! I just eat loads of bread and chocolate too 😋

Tinytigertail · 06/05/2024 11:26

I started listening to my pods again last night and am going to spend some time today setting some goals. Slimpod has helped me to change some behaviors, but I've definitely not seen the amazing changes that many members experience. I'm a pretty healthy eater anyway, I love veg and not a fan of take-aways. I definitely put too much on my plate and eat too quickly, so that's a couple of things I'd like to change. I'm pretty good at writing my wins, but might try angling these towards my eating/exercise/noticing any changes. Muting the FB group has been a good shout for me too!

PuneorPlayonWords · 06/05/2024 14:56

I had a family gathering yesterday, the kind of event I'd usually roll out the door feeling utterly gross from eating. But while I ate a full and enjoyable meal, I didn't pick at all the leftovers on the kids' plates and it was really nice. Small reasons to feel positive.

TeamPolin · 06/05/2024 18:21

Another sugar addict here. Starting with the pods at bedtime tonight. If I can get in control of the sugar binges, I think that would make a big difference....

Well done, that's definitely a win!
I definitely overate yesterday, probably in preparation for starting over today - my diet head is still alive and kicking!

BigPandaTinyDragon · 07/05/2024 13:30

I’ve just signed up and am feeling positive, I’ve needed a proper reset of my eating rather than yet another diet for years so I’m hoping this could be it. I don’t like the sound of the FB groups at all so I won’t be joining!

DrFroggy · 07/05/2024 18:24

Hello @BigPandaTinyDragon and @TeamPolin

I’m sure that the FB group works for some but for me it seemed like a cult and another crazy diet fad. In the last few days it’s like a switch has gone on - I suddenly want to eat good food and don’t fancy rubbish. This is after quite a while of listening to the pods so take heart of it doesn’t work for you immediately. I’ve decided to focus on health instead of weight and maybe I’ll lose some weight along the way.

nofluffsgiven · 16/05/2024 13:28

Thank you for the comments on here. I’ve just joined a few days ago. I immediately thought the fb page was a bit weird too. I love listening to the pods but it’s so hard to find any genuine, detailed reviews on YouTube because when you search for it, it just brings up content from Slimpod’s channel which are are all obviously only positive and bias

Theordinary · 20/05/2024 09:43

How's everyone getting on? I'm listening every night and just got access to the sugar pod as well. I don't think I've lost any weight yet but my attitude is definitely different. I feel quite liberated from dieting and am not thinking or worrying about food anymore. I think it's going to be very small changes and shifts in habits over time which hopefully will result in a little bit of weight loss. I'm at a bmi of 24.5 so I have to just remind myself that I'm already at a healthy weight. Even not gained more at my perimenopause stage is a bonus I guess.

BigPandaTinyDragon · 21/05/2024 20:36

I’m liking it a lot but I struggle with not using the scales - I need to know it’s working or where is my motivation to keep going? Or is that the point? Is it a bit Emperor's New Clothes? 🤔

Theordinary · 01/06/2025 12:08

Right, I'm back here again. I'm going to try and stick with it. I'm 46 so it's painstakingly slow losing weight these days. I would really like to lose a stone but that might be a tad unrealistic. I'm tracking my 3 wins for the day and listening every other day or so. How are people getting on?

nofluffsgiven · 01/06/2025 18:07

Update- I gave up on it and not used it for months. I’m now on mournjaro and that seems to be working. 10lbs down in 6 weeks

Fairyvocals · 02/06/2025 10:41

I tried Mounjaro and had to stop because the side effects were too bad (for me - all my friends have got on brilliantly with it.) I’m going to restart listening to SlimPod.
