Making this thread for a bit of accountability.

37, 3 young kids, full time job, 2 kids in competitive gymnastics training mental hours, and here i sit 2 stone overweight.

Lost an amazing amount of weight on slimming world in 2017 and kept it off for 2 years, felt amazing...then had another baby.

I love LARGE portions of food, im defo a volume eater, i love "healthy" food but also mayo, fried food and all the other good things. I drink maybe 5 times a year.

Here i am 2 weeks into calorie counting 1600 calories a day not having lost a lb.

I dont move enough, i dont eat enough protein, but i like the easiness of calorie counting in that i can grab a sandwich but the weight loss is so slooooowww.

Slimming world is fast loss but i dont have the time time to make every meal from scratch.

Im so deflated.

Have you calculated your TDEE? Personally, I wouldn't lose on 1600. That's more maintenance for me.

If you’ve only got 2 stone to lose then you could try dropping your calories to 1400 a day. Maybe 1600cals is nearer your maintenance level, especially if you’re not doing much exercise?

I love big meals too but I know I have to reduce my portions and cut out snacking otherwise, I’m going to be doing this yo-yo dieting malarkey for the next 20+ years. Having a child also changed my eating habits and I got stuck stacking instead of eating proper meals.

So far, I’ve managed to lose 5lbs in 4 weeks and I’m ok with a slow loss as I’m still trying to work out what will work for me longer term. It’s no use losing it now to then pile it back on when I stop logging calories, which I’ve been doing in the past. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve been trying to stick with 1400cals but I find weekends more tricky so I’ve changed my plan and increased to a higher amount at weekends - 1800 and slightly less in the week - 1250cals.

I’ve not done SW so can’t compare.

it says my maintenance is 1941 so maybe i do need to drop.

I just assumed for the past 10 months ive been eating probably between 2500-3500 calories a day so when i dropped them i expected big things.
