Wegovy/Ozempic/Other GL-1 February starters?

Just ordered from Numan and waiting for the first dose to come (1-3 days they have said). Looking for other people who have or will be starting in Feb as all the other threads seem to be weeks ahead.

I've got a stone and a half I want to lose so not too much but gets me back to a normal BMI. I'm also lifting weights and walking more which I got into doing back in October so have built the habit and can see a difference in tone, but the actual flab on my belly and butt still isn't shifting despite this combined with low carb.

For those who have started, any tips and advice for newbies? Seeing a lot of people saying they get nauseous/sulfur burps and other horrors, what do you do to relieve it? I am also wondering if it will impact on my ability to lift if it suppresses appetite, will I get enough fuel in to actually continue weightlifting?

Anyone joining, please share your story and join me for some moral support.

Good luck!

Hi,

I've just had my first dose Saturday. I only have enough funds for 1 month and hoping to lose 7lb a to kickstart weightloss. How are you feeling about it? Have you done much research?

HolidaySwears · 31/01/2024 09:41

Hi @tinker2190

I've done quite a bit of reading up. Feeling nervous about the side effects and hoping they will be temporary as my body gets used to things. How did you feel after your first dose?

Mine arrives by 11 today. Not sure whether to take it before bed, wait until the morning, after a meal etc so looking to get some tips on that front too!

I'm about to restart taking Ozempic today. I took it about 4 years ago.

Pros: Lost lots of weight in a relatively short period of time. My Hba1C was amazing. Lowest it's been since I was diagnosed.
Cons: Felt nauseous a lot. Was sick a few times. The headaches were awful (and what finally stopped me taking it). Constipated.

I'm hoping that by drinking lots of water, using electrolyte tablets, injecting into my inner thigh instead of my stomach, taking it at night and going low carb will help me out with the side effects.

Taking my first jab tonight or tomorrow. Lots of weight to lose. Is evening or morning better to take?

Njf · 31/01/2024 21:38

I took my first dose of 0.25 on Monday 29th. I had a bit of nausea on day after but not too bad. Definitely can't eat as much and no cravings. I took my injection in the evening but may change the time. Good luck everyone x

Thanks. I took it last night. I don't feel anything, no sickness etc. Makes me think that I didn't do it properly 😂.

tinker2190 · 01/02/2024 10:18

I took my first dose in the morning before lunch on an empty stomach. Next dose is due Saturday morning but I'm going to move it Friday night after a light meal.

I've had frequent nausea and headaches this week. However 5 days in and 5lbs down.

tinker2190 · 03/02/2024 11:24

I've finished week 1. In 7 days I've lost 7lbs, can't believe it to be honest.
I'm going to do my 2nd injection this evening, last week I did it around this time on the Saturday day but was quite nauseous. So will be interesting to see the difference.

7lb is amazing in a week. I hope to do so well. How many calories are you having in a day? I'm struggling to eat more than 1000.
