I've previously been able to control my weight with what I eat, until the last year or so. I seem to have given up trying to control things as I don't see the fast results anymore - thats age I guess! I walk everywhere but thats not enough anymore & the wobbly bits just keep getting wobblier & I'm so fed up I just eat more. I know it's going to take more effort than ever before to get rid of this extra stone I'm carrying around (I'm only 5ft so it is v. noticable) but I don't seem to want it enough as I'm not doing anything about it, I give in to cravings at about 2pm each day. But I don;t want to become a blob forever - help!

I need help too - also 5 foot - about 2 stone to lose - start each day really well then give in by mid-afternoon!

How do we start? I don't want to feel this huge!

superfly - I was where you are now beginning of October. Believe me, I had hit rock bottom. Feeling low, unhappy, and generally miserable about the way I looked. The weight always seems more noticeable when you are short. But I totally understand about the weakness thing. I pulled my socks up and decided the weight must go. I have now lost 2 stone, however, it has now gone horribly wrong. WHY??? I am happier and more confident than I have been in ages, but am now eating more than ever and cannot stop. I am so weak. What I am trying to say, is you are not weak, you are human, and you can do this. Keep busy, it worked for me. Try to plan what you will eat for the day and if you need to snack - lots of fruit. You will get there, when the time is right for you. (Its staying there that is the problem for me Good Luck, the support on here is tremendous. X

I found setting a smaller goal than 'losing all my excess weight' helped. I just decided to stick to healthy eating for one week. I thought that I could manage it for one week - and I did. After that it seemed a shame to spoil my week of effort by bingeing again. I also found the Paul McKenna cd EXTREMELY helpful (much to my surprise as I assumed it would be a bit gimmicky). Good luck.

I'm new to this forum, so thanks so much for your posts - I feel like I can start today! but then it is only 9.40am and I feel like this most days at 9.40am but perhaps today will be better? I'll let you know at 4pm

You are right, I will take it from today, one day at a time. I have to find some patience.

Meep - a fellow 5 footer! It's challenging enough being a shortie without extra chubb to deal with huh?

Well I've had enough of my ever increasing waist measurement now - it is time to take it on - before I become my mother!

MN is amazing. Thanks all.

superfly - I wish there was a shop that sold short but wide clothes! Petite is all very well but it just doesn't cut it over my ample bosom!!!

I have stocked up on cereal - the one healthy thing I like and great to snack on!

(my mother is very fit and slim - I wish I could become her )

superflybaby · 20/03/2008 11:28

lol Meep, not only do I find my boobs won't fit in the tops - the petite trousers are still too long! Next stuff especially.
Perhaps the shop Long Tall Sally for tall skinny people should open a sister business called Short Stout Sally? Hey, if the clothes fit I would shop there!
My Gran, My Mum & me are like the Russian Dolls - it is depressing. They are like walking reminders of what is to come. Your fit & slim mother must give you some hope!
How are you doing so far today? how many bowls of cereal can you eat before you get sick of it? It's 11.20 & so far so good for me.

1 bowl of special k type cereal - one cup of tea - i small finger of toast (discarded by minimeep!) - a spoonful of orange goo & some prune (to persuade minimeep to eat!) and that's it so far. Have been so busy (trying to get a wee sample from my little darling - there's a whole other thread on that subject!) that I haven't needed to eat! Hooray!
I once took back a pair of petite jeans to Next and teh girl asked what was wrong wit them - I said they were too long - and she asked if I'd tried wearning heels - cheeky cow!!! (and yes they were still too long with heels!)

superflybaby · 20/03/2008 12:22

Well that challenge sounds enough to distract from the munchies - hope you get the pee sample soon. Did you know there is an actual Baby Food Diet? sounds like that might suit you.
Not condoning the Next sales girl (agreed cheekey cow), but I made a good shoe investment the other day - these HUGE black wedge shoes - they are like stilts! I'll be able to wear 29" inside leg jeans with them they are that good! and the jeans will hide the wedge so to the naked eye I will look 5'3 - hooray! Now I just have to loose this stone...
