Any Peloton users? Tips?

We now have a Peloton bike. I am enjoying using it and I do work up a sweat!

Just wondering how everyone else finds it when it comes to weight loss / changing body shape.

i really want to lose a dress size (Pref 2). If I did 30 mins class plus a 10 min weights class 3-4 times a week do you think this is enough?

I understand diet is part of the equation too but mainly focusing on exercise for now as I’m hoping it will help my mental health too!

when it comes to diet I find it so hard to prepare something super healthy but delicious and filling at the same time. Any favourite recipes that tick these boxes?!

thanks all x

Hey OP, thought I’d give your post a bump 😊 I’m pretty new to peloton too, so I don’t have answers, but I hope it’s going well! x

Thanks @Blossomed !!
I am loving it but haven’t noticed any difference in my shape or size. Have used it for 4 weeks 3-4x a week plus strength workouts. So still curious how much I really need to do in order to shift my weight or tone up a bit.

I haven’t been eating poorly. I am aware of what I’m eating but not on a diet.

maybe I’ve posted in the wrong chat!

I am loving Tunde, Leanne and Olivia! The greatest showman ride is brilliant and i am just enjoying picking fun playlists to keep me entertained and not give up!

@Totallywingingitmum ahh I’m glad you are enjoying it! Sounds like you are being really consistent too! 😀I haven’t noticed any change physically yet either, but I feel better for doing it definitely. I figure if we keep going, change will surely come. I just need to lose the whole ‘I’ve been exercising for a week, so surely I should look like a model by now!’ Type mentality 😂
The greatest showman ride sounds fun! I like Hannah Frankson’s classes the most so far.
What weights do you use for the strength classes? I need to do some of those.
I’m trying to do a little something every day, even if it’s just an audio power walk (the 15 min Jon Hosking Dance music one is good) or a core workout. Just want to keep momentum going if I can (fingers crossed!).

I Add on a light weights 10 minute class after a ride! Literally using the 2lb weights that came with the bike. Still challenging!!

and I agree I’m definitely still in the phase of - I exercised yesterday why are my jeans not looser around my waist yet ?! 😅

I will check out the classes you mentioned!

agree just little and often still keeps the momentum up even if it’s not a full on ride x

Peloton doesn't really burn that many calories. I aim to be in a 1000 calorie deficit a day to lose around a lb a week (they say 500 but that doesn't work for me). I take 500 from diet and aim to burn 500 on the bike which for me is a 30 minute hit and hills + extra 10 with a cool down or another extra 10. That's daily

Gosh people do talk a lot of rubbish on here.

Of course Peloton burns calories.....if your heart rate is up then you are burning calories.

I do a 30 minute hit and hills, or a techno/edm/house rise and can burn 300 calories in 30 minutes, followed by an extra 10 low impact and we are up to 360 odd calories, followed by a 10 minute arms and we are up to 400 calories - for 50 minutes work. I then walk my dogs for an hour and get another 230-240 calories which gives me 640 ish calories before I have even started my day.

It is great exercise, low impact and you don't have to go the gym - absolute no brainer.
