Has anybody had experience with any of the above?
I can choose one of the three.
Which one would you choose and why?
Thank you

I did Slimming World years ago and lost loads of weight but when I came off it, the weight piled on again. I think for me it was psychology in that the Green foods were unlimited so I ate tons of those...but when I went back to eating normally I ate tons of everything. Also exercise was not hugely encouraged. I did it online without the meetings.

I was considering Second Health until they wanted to charge me £39 a month, to which I thought, bog off!

I like slimming world. It gets royally slated on here but for me it is and easy and sensible eating plan which works, encourages me to cook from scratch, and makes sure I easily get my 5 a day!

I am on slimming world. Essentially it encourages you to snack less and cook fresh. I do cook fresh just a healthy choice of foods.

however it is a bit limiting if you want to eat out or have a drink. For me it’s getting me out of the habit of snacking and choosing healthy foods.

Slimming world works for me. I started again the week before Christmas and have lost 8lb already. I’m a stops my bingeing and ensures I cook healthy meals.

i can’t comment on the others as have no experience of them.

Just wanted to give an update - I did go with Second Nature
It's a 12 week programme. I'm on week 5 and it's great.
Not the best time to do this for me as I went on a work trip and then had a week's holiday in Italy. However, despite this I slowly and steadily lose weight. It's a very positive programme and NOT a diet.
I feel more mindful of what I'm eating, but for instance, I still eat chocolate (my big weakness).
I get a daily article to read, every week has a different theme (nutrition, sleep, exercise etc), I get encouraged to increase my daily steps, you can get as much or as little as you want involved in a group chat.
I haven't felt hungry, I don't feel like I go without and I genuinely believe that I can change my approach to food for good.
I just wanted to share this as for years I felt powerless and just felt helplessly watching my weight creep up

Me too, works really well for me and obviously if you stop doing any diet the weight piles back on but SW is about sustainable changes.

Sorry, didn't RTFT!

Glad it's working for you 😊

Probably none of them and just try to be ‘sensible’ or calorie count. I think in my own experience, diets have just led to yo-yoing and a lifetime of all or nothing thinking.

Hi - just came across your thread as I’m considering Second Nature. Can I ask how you feel about it now? @viktoria

Loobylou99 · 27/01/2025 16:20

@viktoria @Poorlyandfedup can I ask if either of you still do second nature. I have a chance to do second nature or xyla as a 12week nhs plan. There's not much info out there on either which makes me think they can't be that good!
I'm feeling v v desperate

I did lose weight - not a lot, but maybe 3kg. I found the info really useful and would hope that I have learnt a bit more about nutrition.
Ultimately, after an injury in the summer when I couldn't walk anymore for two months (I did LOTS of walking before), I put all the weight back on on. And a couple of extra kilos.
I have no comparison with the other programmes, but I think Second Nature is good. Especially if you get involved in the group chat. It's amazing how much that helps and encourages. However, I feel I probably should have tried to stay in touch with some of the other people in my group after the end of the programme. Because after the 12 weeks, my enthusiasm definitely dwindled.
Best of luck.
