Hi OP, can you tell us more about your diet, exercise, lifestyle and how much you need to lose? Will you continue to take the steroids or will you be weaned off? Hope you're recovering well.

Recovery is going well thank you. My diet is good, I eat home made food mainly, a lot of veg and protein, low carb. I will be weaned off the the steroids slowly which feels like forever right now. I need loose about 15-18kg. Before my surgery, a size 6 was too big, this is the heaviest iv been and I don't like it. I go out walking daily and lift weights amd repeat exercises 4 times, I train 3 x a week and change the exercises each time

@anastasiawu8 steroids are worth it for me, they help keep me alive, i wish I didn't have to take them. I just want to loose this excess weight

You're thinking of anabolic steroids used by bodybuilders. From what I can gather, the OP is likely taking corticosteroids commonly used for health conditions.

To answer the OP, I was on long term steroids for a while there and absolutely nothing I did helped with my weightloss.

I didn't start seeing results until I weaned off them. Keep doing what you're doing though as it's important to eat well and exercise when taking them.

The only thing you can do is try and feed the hunger with lower calorie foods , things like celery dipped into cottage cheese , frozen berries and crudités etc

Good god, READ THE OP.

Hey iv been on steroids for almost a yr after having major surgery.

The steroids are because of the surgery.

Stop preaching about something completely irrelevant!!!

TheGoddessFrigg · 21/06/2024 09:22

Steroids really are the devil's tictacs. The only way to lose weight on them is try to eat healthy and taper the dose down as soon as your healthcare practitioner thinks practicable.
And try not to be hard on yourself
