Soup, homemade. We make 'weightwatchers' soup which is onions, carrots, celery, courgette, stock, blitzed with some mint sauce. Broth is more filling with delicious barley

Roast chicken dinner can be really low kcal, if you measure the oil you use for potatoes and don't eat the chicken skin.

428 calories and 31g protein.

Stir fried chicken, steak, pork, fish, prawns or tofu .

Tons of stir fried vegetables.

Little bit or carbs - rice or noodles or you can go without if you have enough protein and veg.

Some kind of stir fry sauce - home made or shop bought. They're all pretty low calorie.

Stir fry
Baked fish/chicken with loads of veg
Lean mince bolognaise/chilli with loads of veg

I make a big tub of this coleslaw and it lasts days and is really tasty. I have it in wraps with a protein at lunch, or have it with as a side dish to pulled pork, marinated Chicken breast, or any other lean meat. Really filling but low calorie.

Healthy coleslaw

Crunchy homemade coleslaw with lemon and mustard is one of the healthiest side dishes around. This one uses fresh yoghurt instead of mayo so is low in fat.

Another option is chicken and veg curry served with cauliflower rice.

Quitelikeit · 04/12/2023 21:30

Also second the stir fry

I use chicken, onion, carrots, red pepper, frozen peas and one ring of egg noodles with ketjap Manis and sometimes a spoon of peanut butter

Tender stem broccoli with lemon juice, chilli and 50g of shaved parmesan cooked kn a wok with low fat spray, with a side of anything u like eg lean fish/meat

I make a gorgeous pate/paste which is 1 pack of smoked salmon, I pack of fat free cottage cheese, massive handfuls of chives and parsley and some lemon juice, all blended tog till smooth.
I eat it with carrot sticks and also spread on sliced roasted veg e.g. butternut squash/potato or grilled tomato plus couscous

Also pasta with grilled mushrooms and one tablespoon of low fat cream cheese. Mix the cheese with warm water from pasta pan plus salt and pepper, then mix jnto the main pasta. It's nice if u want a "creamy" type of taste without the calories.
Reduce calories by boiling veg. And replacing half pasta with the veg e.g. chopped turnip or carrot. I find if I mix it into the pasta I can bulk up the pasta bit without missing the pasta too much

Also roasted butternut squash cooled and sliced instead of bread, still has a nice texture. Then put slices of ham on plus pickled beetroot

Also roasted chickpeas with strong spices e.g. harissa/cumin and salt. Just put on baking tray for approx 40 mjns at 200 degrees, giving occasional shake. I sprinkle these on a soup like croutons

Giant mushrooms to replace all bread
