Has anyone else's body gone a bit 'lumpier ' during weight loss?

I need to lose around 2 stone to be back to my pre COVID weight so not huge amounts but still a challenge. I have been sitting at the very top of the healthy BMI rage just to give people an idea.
What I am finding though as I lose a little weight I almost look worse because I now how more bulges? I do have faith that these will disappear as I get to my target weight but just wondered if anyone else has found this? Hope this stage doesn't last too long!

I’m not sure, I think perhaps I did round my middle as I was deflating 😂? As fat was more solid/round/smooth I suppose it doesn’t come off very evenly? I lost it all straight away from my face neck arms and calves and the last to go is my bum and tummy so I look a bit like a weeble at times and not very well proportioned.

Yes it is mainly my torso that has gone rather lumpy😄

Have you finished losing weight now? Did the lumpiness disappear?
I know I need to just stick with it but it is a bit demotivating!

Yes this happens to me you can see where pockets of fat has gone in some places but not others! Keep up the good work, you’ll smooth out soon!

Yes it’s pretty even now

Why do you 'need' to lose two stone if your BMI indicates you are healthy?

I have always been much lighter than this and it is only the last 3 years I have been this weight. Although it says I am within the healthy range of BMI I am definitely carrying way too much fat round my middle which I know is not healthy. I also have limited clothes in this size and would like to be able to wear my full wardrobe of clothes again.

It's because of lipolysis which is basically the process of breaking down fat cells.

The fat cells break down but you still have skin that needs to tighten which takes longer/doesn't fully shrink back.

If you do some toning exercises to build up the muscles that will improve the look as it will fill out the skin with lean toned muscle.

Thanks @CyberCritical and @cathyandclaire that's really interesting and makes sense. I will keep at it!

Maybe getting some massages would help? Just a guess, though.

I lost my post 😔

Anyway, I was just saying that this is almost an exact description of how I look, apart from the fact I have chunky calves.

My stomach is pretty much like a balloon that has been inflated and deflated too many times, it is all wrinkly yet lumpy.

My upper torso has evened out over time.

I don't mind my tum too much. Apart from DH nobody else sees it and I treat it as a visual reminder of my efforts paying off!

Yes very lumpy these days, when I was fatter I was all smooth, just very big! Sometimes I think I had a better figure then!
