Finding pharmacy to accept script

Hello

This is my first post - long time lurker.

I’ve been on semaglutide since 2018, and have been very well on it (steady weight, no side effects). I haven’t been able to get a script filled since April, and although my endocrinologist will keep writing them, I’m just accumulating a useless pile of papers! Online services will not sell Wegovy to me as they say they are prioritising their own patients (fair enough) or they “don’t want to take the risk” - I have quite a complex list of medicines - despite the fact that the person taking the risk is the prescribing doctor. (And me of course!)

I am at the end of my tether, and it’s taking up so much time.

I don’t know if this is allowed, but if anyone can recommend a pharmacist that accepts private scripts for Wegovy I’d be grateful for a heads up! (I’m in London, but willing to post script, or travel.) In principle a private script can be filled at any pharmacy, but I can’t find one that will accept one for Wegovy.

(Prescription is from a very well known endocrinology professor. I don’t qualify for Wegovy on the NHS as I am not heavy enough, but I may get to that point before I get this script filled!)

Why are you taking wegovy if your weight is in the healthy BMI range?

No pharmacy in London will accept your prescription? Is there a difference between nhs and private prescriptions? When you say they won’t accept it, do you mean that or is it that they don’t have the drug in stock?

Why are you taking wegovy if your weight is in the healthy BMI range?

I assume OP has a genuine metabolic disorder and this is what the drug was created for in the first place. It was not created for weight loss.

OP I don’t know anywhere I’m sorry. Can your consultant help by writing a script for another medication? I believe Ozempic is hard to source and Wegovy is licenced for the weight loss so no one will sell it to you. There is trulicity? Is this similar? I would give him a call and see if he knows a pharmacy?
