Hello! Anyone taking Wegovy and on thyroxine? I've just started and have zero side effects and have read that thyroxine can stop Wegovy from working. I'm hoping for some success stories to spur me on! Thanks!

Following. I’m interested in wegovy aswell but afraid because of my thyroxine. I heard it can make you get tyhroid cancer. Is it true??

It's listed as one of the risks, but, as far as I could read up, it has so far only happened in rats, no humans. And hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people round the world have taken it. You should talk to your GP or pharmacist to understand the risks. X

Hi. I have been on Wegovy since the beginning of December, and I am currently on my 3rd lot - 1mg. I lost weight quickly in the first 5 weeks but seems to have plateaued. I was ill most of Christmas due to some virus and I did dry January which I guess helped. Have lost 10lb in 10 weeks - was hoping for better results. I'm on 150mg of Thyroxine T4 and 60 micrograms of liothyronine sodium - T3. It was my Endocrinologists who suggested Weygovy - that or cut a leg off to lose weight 😜as I fast regularly - 16-18 hours 3 times a week, count calories. Do a minimum of 40 minutes of exercise daily, cold water swim - the list goes on on. I have struggled with my weight for 26 years since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism - I used to be a nice size 10 - cat walk model and now hover around a size 18.

I found the nausea the worst in the first 4 weeks, plus the headaches and now the constipation. I struggle to understand how many calories you are supposed to be eating, the appetite curbing works sometimes but not every day. I get my prescription from Boots which provides access to all sorts of information - the diet sheets are a joke though. I have joined a couple of webinars but have yet to learn anything new. It would be good if soon could just say, you need to stick to a carb-free diet and 1200 calories max, no alcohol or something like that. I do worry about the body going into a starvation mode like on a crash diet though.

I love carbs, so I guess I'm going to have to cut them out next, try and keep calories to 1200 or less and increase activity. Not much option I think.

I'm pleased I lost weight as this is the first time in years, but I think it will be a major struggle to keep the weight going down - I was hoping that as my weight decreases the T3/T4 would help accelerate it - no sign of that happening yet.

How have you got on @Tailfeather ?
