Question about Wegovy side effects

GreyDressOh · 13/10/2023 18:18

Have a wegovy pen arriving tomorrow and I just want to ask how severe the nausea that seems to be common on it is? I have some teaching to do on Monday, and a trip to the dentist on Tuesday and can’t risk being totally incapacitated. Those of you who’ve experienced side effects - could you still go about your daily life?

Yes it was completely manageable. Mild nausea that also stops you wanting to eat so it's win win really 😅 not every day and usually just mornings for me.

NewDogOwner · 13/10/2023 18:48

I had none.

GreyDressOh · 13/10/2023 23:28

Thanks!

I don't have any nausea or dizziness and was surprised as I'm usually so susceptible to those sort of side effects.

GiveMeCakeOrGiveMeDeath · 15/10/2023 05:27

I have no side effects yet. From my ozempic experience they build up as the dose builds up. Unless you're extremely sensitive you'll probably be totally fine.

Took first dose last night. Today feel nausea - it comes and goes but is very manageable so far!

No negative side effects yet for me either.
I’ve had some acid before I brake my fast but soon wares off. I’m only a few days in too but finding a complete loss of appetite which is great!

Tailfeather · 18/10/2023 22:52

I also have no side effects. Can't wait to up my dose!

Menora · 19/10/2023 09:56

When I got to 0.5mg I found that hard and vomited more than once. Constipation was pretty terrible, heartburn and then I had a gallstone attack! It was not till I don’t take it that I realise how nauseous I was all of the time

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/10/2023 09:59

I couldn’t sleep on it.

LovelaceBiggWither · 19/10/2023 10:05

I was extremely sick from the first dose. It took about 6 months to settle. Now I will occasionally vomit out of the blue with no rhyme or reason.

Tailfeather · 19/10/2023 10:24

Eeek! OK! I will continue to trust the process.

LovelaceBiggWither · 20/10/2023 01:36

I think I just got lucky LOL. I'm titrating down to try and eek out my remaining ozempic and I felt worse on .5ml than I did on 1.

Starlightstarbright2 · 21/10/2023 19:35

I just had my second injection today - no side effects so far.

Popsmum4 · 13/12/2023 15:30

did anyone find wegovy had effects on their period? i'm 3 days late (i have a very regular cycle and deffo not pregnant). i read some other forums that it did delay or even skip periods but this isn't outlined in any of the information packs so wanted to know if this was normal?

NoMoreCheddar · 13/12/2023 15:42

I'm on my first week of 0.25. I had a dreadful headache and some nausea after my first dose. Both improved after 48 hours. Headache is all gone and only a tiny bit of nausea since.

Positive effects, I have felt a tiny subsidence of food noise. I'm still hungry but was able to resist snacking a bit better.

ApoodlecalledPenny · 13/12/2023 15:47

I feel very lucky to have had minimal side effects so far. I’m week six so second dose of 0.5. I haven’t had nausea, but had a little constipation that I solved by drinking a lot more water. My period came bang on time (and doesn’t usually, so that surprised me!) The main side effect that bothers me is tiredness - but I think I’m not eating quite enough at the moment. I know that’s the point, but I think I could do with slightly upping the calories as I’ve had good losses so far.
