I've been obese since my mid-teens (now 40 years old) and have never had much will-power, struggled with secret and binge eating. I had some success losing weight a few years ago, then the pandemic hit and I started binging again after lockdown eased.

Since 1st August, I have lost 12.5kgs (about 2 stone) and I'm feeling so much more comfortable. This week, though, I've been seeing some differences that are non-scale and thought it would be nice to hear other people's too.

  1. A silver ring I've worn on my right hand ring finger for nearly 18 years is now too big. I've moved it to my middle finger where it fits perfectly.
  2. I wore one of my favourite skirts this morning, and it was so loose, it nearly fell down as I was walking home.
  3. Crossing my legs now feels so much more comfortable and natural, rather than a strain.
  4. I've had Lily's dark chocolate button things in the house for a week and haven't eaten them all in one go, or in secret. I've had two at a time, twice, after dinner and not needed or wanted any on other days.

Please tell me yours- I'd love to know other things I can look forward to.

Over 3.5 stone down now,I love non scale victories, nice thread 😊

Rings are too big

Clothes are 2-3 sizes down

Can cross my legs easily

I can wear fitted trousers with a shirt top

Have had to buy a new winter coat

Don't avoid mirrors or cameras now

Ooh, yes @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor with the winter coat! I put one of mine on for the first time yesterday and it felt so much more comfortable. Last winter, I couldn't do it up.

3.5 stone is amazing, well done!

Lost over a stone so far. Have had to change to a size down in trousers ( always kept my trousers from different weights ). My pjs are falling off. But I’m not allowing myself any new things until after Xmas where I think I will be another stone down. So hoping to buy some new stuff in the sales.

can now put both my engagement ring and my wedding ring on together.

I hit my first goal of seeing the number 11 stone on the scales instead of 12 this morning. Can feel it in my face and my hips and bum the most.

My wellies fit guys!! My knee high wellies that last time I tried I actually thought I might have to cut off once I'd squeezed myself into them fit.

Just lost 5 stone. My last blood pressure reading was very good and I'm in size 10 clothes (albeit stores with generous sizing). I do feel the cold more though.

I love all these things! Thank you for sharing, everyone.

I can’t imagine being a size 10! But I’m looking forward to being able to fit in the standard range at any shop. I’ve been size 24 for so long and never been a normal size as an adult.
