Why oh why??? DS has just stopped BF at 1yo, i'm 10 and a half stone now, which I was when I got pg. I want to lose a stone, but think I might now be putting weight on. Everybody told me that once he stopped BF the weight would drop off, but it's coincided with me going back to work, not getting out for a couple of long walks a day with the pram and being so fed-up back at work that I eat choc all day!!!

I just can't find the motivation to get myself back on track. Have done WW previously, so know it all and could get on with it myself - can't afford to join now have gone p/t at work. Equally, I don't want to become so obsessed with what I'm eating now that I do have to eat on the run at times when at home with DS, sometimes, despite best intentions, it's not always easy for me to plan ahead. We're prob going to start TTC DC2 at some stage this year and I don't want to be overweight when we start.

Please tell me how you found the motivation to lose weight.

how tall are you?

Dorasboots · 06/03/2008 12:25

5'4". I juat want to get back to below 10st so I can fit into all my clothes again. I can't really afford to buy new ones, so the cheapest option is to lose a bit of weight - and of course, i'd save a load of money by cutting out my choc habit . I don't want to face summer trying to hide the wobbly bits, it's a lot easier in winter isn't it?

yes I know what you mean! Do you get out and about a lot with the baby? At that age I remember pushing mine everywhere.
The easiest way I found to lose weight is to cut down on carbs. Very hard though and I have no motivation or willpower at the moment!

Yes, usually have at least one long walk a day, sometimes two, but not on the 3 days a week I'm in work now - and then when I'm at home I'm catching up with work around the house when DS naps now, rather than taking him out for his nap on a walk. plan of attack needed I think, weight loss is higher priority than housework!

It would help if you laid off the chocolates for a start.

Dorasboots · 06/03/2008 18:24

hmm, yes moondog, am aware of that, just looking for some friendly support to help motivate myself.

With a 1yo who's not a great sleeper, and a colleague who covered my maternity leave refusing to do any kind of handover as she now feels the job should be hers, sometimes I just feel in need of chocolate!

I am in the same position and need to motivate myself. I have been thinking that I can do it without counting points or calories religiously but it doesn't work for me as when I am not strict I end up eating too much chocolate etc and end up putting weight on!

I am going to start tomorrow, I think Friday is always a good day to start a diet as if you are good over the weekend it is easier in the week. I am going to follow the WW points system and religiously write down everything that I eat, I need to be anal about it!

Do you fancy starting a support thread and see how we get on?
