Anyone starting Zoe in November?

Not just about weight loss but thought this might be the best place to post the thread. I've just signed up and should be starting in November, wondering if anyone else is and wants to share experiences?

And your top scoring foods?

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 24/12/2023 19:07

Yes, maybe someone can suggest a few food swaps?

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 25/12/2023 10:51

Well I'm delighted to have been instruct by Zoë to 'enjoy regularly' hotel chocolat rum truffles - score 60. Xmas Grin

Vanquishedagain · 25/12/2023 11:27

@ErrolTheRednosedDragon 😭😭

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 25/12/2023 12:25

Remarkably, DHs score for them was 57.

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 25/12/2023 19:23

That's interesting - I've got some Hotel Chocolat orange tangs. Going to zap them now.....

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 25/12/2023 19:26

Ok they were poor. But the dark chocolate reindeer scored 68. Happy days!

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 25/12/2023 19:30

The pralines are lower, Zoë is definitely only a dark chocolate fan.

hippospot · 25/12/2023 20:59

@ErrolTheRednosedDragon @SoySaucePls thanks for the offer of help! Really I was just venting a bit. Also my microbiome score was downgraded from excellent to good as well, which is a bit frustrating.

It's a work in progress and it's still early days. I've signed up for four months which means I still have 3 months to learn more.

Christmas was always going to be tricky and my score for today was: 21! I had no booze and I ate lots of veg but I did have Christmas cake and a chocolate pudding, as well as roast ham which is very low scoring for me. I'm not going to feel bad about that.

Anyone else care to share their Christmas day score?

Vanquishedagain · 25/12/2023 21:34

@ErrolTheRednosedDragon I’ve ended the day on a score of 35….after the third glass of wine I just stopped logging…..

SoySaucePls · 25/12/2023 21:46

haha!! I didn’t even bother 🤣

I also ate a ton of veg but having not eaten processed sugary foods (which were delicious!) for three months or drunk anything for probably nine months I had a massive crash and fell asleep on the sofa. I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

Or maybe that’s just Christmas and what everyone does?

Memeapple · 25/12/2023 22:26

@hippospot

Am feeling despondent too. I'm not far off you in blood sugar at 41 and haven't logged anything for 10 days. I was consistently getting high scores (over 60) as I had ditched bread. As my microbiome was deemed "excellent" I've pretty much given up on this as it looks as though my problem might be more to do with bad genetics.

What are your top bad bacteria? It’s odd to see excellent for a microbiome score and yet have high blood sugar.

At the back of the gut PDF, where you get your breakdown of your total bacteria, what does your first page of that show? What are the top bacteria in percentage terms? Might be something in there if you want to share it. I got quite good at analysing bugs though I can’t promise anything. You might have just one rogue one that’s causing problems with blood sugar.

Zoes algorithm isn’t perfect by any means. I’d bet you’ve got more going on than the Zoe presets. But I could be wrong.

Greenthread · 25/12/2023 23:24

My score is 30 for today, I’ve had over 3000 calories and have only had 50g protein 😂

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 25/12/2023 23:41

My score was 40, which tbh is better than I expected for Xmas

My blood sugar is 32 but my microbiome score was 80. I had loads of Patrick. That’s on the 15 good and 15 bad bacteria.

I mean right at the very end of the report.

Dont they provide that anymore?

I’ve added mine so you can see. Go right to the very end of your gut health report.

If it’s not there now, that’s oh no, I really need that break down on my next retest, otherwise there’s no point.

Honestly I’m not interested in their 15 good and bad bugs.

It’s the data at the end of the report that’s gold.

Memeapple · 26/12/2023 10:51

@SoySaucePls

Here are my results. I scored 85 on gut health but blood sugar 41.
Nothing really there apart from a ton of E-Coli!

So after a week of eating out, cooking for extended family, and a carb and meat fest yesterday (which I didn’t particularly enjoy…) I started this morning with a banana, mango (frozen) and spinach smoothie. I’ve always been nervous of smoothies that include vegetables so I went easy on the spinach but added in a small handful of walnuts - which took my score up to 79. And, rather surprisingly (to me), actually tasted quite nice!

SoySaucePls · 26/12/2023 11:34

@Memeapple yes E. coli is high. Can be inflammatory for the whole body. You’d need to know which strain or strains you have.

These results are from the Zoe 15 good and bad.

Was there nothing extra right at the end of your report?

Mine went on for 6 slides right at the end of the report. It’s got about 150 different strains listed.

Was this not there on your report.?

Can anyone else comment who has tested recently with Zoe?

Has the 100% breakdown of the full microbiome (your gut test) been removed?

Is it no longer there?

It used to be (I’m assuming it’s gone now) right at the end and you’d get every single bacteria they found in your stool test.

slides and slides and slides or data similar to the image I posted above.

For e-coli reduction mannose-d is very good for clearing it out.

I used to take it for UTI infection. Quite a lot.

I have zero e-coli now. None whatsoever detected in my test.

It’s a sugar that’s not absorbed very well in the intestines. Stops e-coli clinging to the insides. Flushes then all out.

It’s made from the inside bark of pine trees and is high in pycogenol, a polyphenol.

@SoySaucePls
I'll try the d-manose. There is a whole list but it's pages long so I didn't want to overload -but if you insist ;-) here it is. Please do have a look :-)

Yes, it is on mine.

The biggest one on mine is Prevotella copri, I have over 50% of that. No E. coli.

Is it good or bad to have to have lower levels of insulin? A lot of the bacteria I have in larger amounts says they are associated with lower levels of insulin.

hippospot · 26/12/2023 14:09

I have no E. coli.

I've had 3 lots of antibiotics for UTIs in the last year, and since yesterday symptoms of yet another one :(

My microbiome score fell from 86 to 74 when they reviewed their scoring recently. So it's still "good" but no longer "excellent".

I have the parasite that is associated with good metabolism and lower visceral fat (Blastocystis).

In my report there are about 8 pages of bugs listed at the end.

My issues are poor blood sugar control and psoriasis (inflammation, right?). I'd love to know more about the exact bugs associated with these.
