How long have you maintained?

After losing weight, how long have you managed to keep it off?

Did you yo yo?

Did you never go back to your heaviest?

Nearly 4 years maintained.
Not gone back up and I don’t yo-yo.
I lost it by logging everything on My fitness Pal. I increased calories to maintenance calories once I reached target weight and I still log now to keep myself on track. It takes a couple of mins a day and I feel it’s worth doing.

Now I’m at target there are of course days I go over, but I stick to target the rest of the time so the occasional birthday party or whatever doesn’t have any impact on my weight.

I lost nearly 4 stones over 20 years ago and have pretty much maintained ever since. I might put on four or five pounds on holiday or over Christmas but quickly get back on track and lose it again with My Fitness Pal. I walk a lot and am careful with what I eat - I never looked on it as a 'diet' but more of a permanent change to healthier eating.

I went back to my heaviest but I was never massively overweight and it took 8 years for me to get back to my fat-weight. I kept it off for about 4 and then it crept up.

I've lost some now but not back at my low weight. Not sure it's possible now im over 40.

@TooningOut I’m 50 and post menopause. It’s definitely possible!

I've maintained for 4 months so far.

At my heaviest, I weighed 90kg. (Around 14 stone). I was obese, as I'm very short.

It took me 18 months to get down to 55kg, that was 12/13 years ago.

My weight fluctuates by a few kilos (52kg-57kg) but no more than this.

I took up exercising over the past few years, so my body has changed - I'm a size smaller but the same weight!

I'd still like to lose a few kilos, I always think I could lose more to tone up -- I have excess skin on my stomach with some very stubborn stomach fat that, so far, resists fucking off.

Congrats on your weight loss.

I lost 3 stone 7 years ago and have put none of it back on. I am very strict with myself though so if I find my weight creeping up, even by 5 pounds, I make a concentrated effort to lose it.

I use MFP after Christmas and holidays to lose any excess pounds I've gained and I find this works and keeps me on track.

I lost 10kg over 10 years ago. I've put some of it back on but I've never reached the same weight. I gave myself a limit of 2kg above my goal weight - if I ever go above that then I need to trim down again.
