I only have one now very occasionally. Usually instead of evening meal if I've eaten quite a lot that day. Like today. I used to have one every day for my breakfast. But didn't really help with weight loss. But they are still going so somebody must be buying them. They have gone a bit expensive so I try to get them when they are on offer.

No. They are full of sugar. I would recommend a protein bar/yogurt or something more filling.

Thanks. I might try a protein bar. But I'm not that keen on them.

Or try protein yogurt. Or something with protein. I think even 2 boiled eggs might be better for you, than slim fast.

Or try and get some meal replacements that are low sugar. They sell them online!

I have one every now and again usually after a big night out. The following day I have one to balance it out.

I've had a bit of a revelation recently (realising that I don't have to eat 1200 calories to maintain as long as I do some exercise) but I lost about 15lb last year, and have only gained about 5lb back. That was on Slim Fast breakfast, chunky soup for lunch and a normal dinner. It weaned me off bready breakfast stuff like croissants and bagels.

That's because of the calorie difference. Slim fast is around 200 calories. Whereas a croissant is probably nearer 3-400.

Yesterday I wasnt very hungry as had a large lunch but thought I better have something at around tea time as I was going out. So had glass of milk and a banana so don't think that was too many calories and probably healthier than slimfast. But I quite like the coffee flavoured one so will go on having that occasionally.

Yes, I know, I was just answering the question as to who still buys them and I'm saying I did until recently, but they're not necessary even though they work and help with carby cravings. I'm now eating about 1700 calories and exercising to lose the 5lb gain.

Have a look at ASDA own brand ones, they are OK. £5.50 for 10

I used to like the coffee flavoured one too especially with a frozen banana in it. Was nice on a hot day but I wasn't using for weight loss.
