Insights into being 60kg (about 9 1/2 st)

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 19/09/2023 14:28

I'm 5ft 4" and my target weight is 60kg, picked because it was slap bang in the middle of the healthy zone for my sex age and height.

Can I ask if you are (or were) 60kg

  1. What dress size do you wear?
  2. Do high heels still hurt your feet?

Thanks

5'6. At 60kg I was an 8-10 and looked really skinny - I could only get to that weight by restricting myself a LOT, I think I'm just a 'heavy' person! And heels always hurt me!

watchingsmurfs · 19/09/2023 20:19

I’m 60kg. 5ft 7 and between a 10 and a 12, depending on brand.

High heels still hurt! I rarely wear them anymore.

AvengedQuince · 19/09/2023 20:23

I'm 5ft 5 and 9st (57kg)
I wear a 6 bottom, 10 top. I have never worn high heels.

jamaisjedors · 19/09/2023 20:25

Hi, am around 59-60kg and 5ft4 like you.

In the uk I can be an 8 or a 10 or v occasionally a 12, depending on the cut and brand. Medium here in France.

But would say 10 if ordering online usually.

No idea on heels 😂, trainers all the way!

Justcallmebebes · 19/09/2023 20:25

I'm 5'5 and 62kg. Can't wear heels anymore but that's more my age i think. I can wear high wedges comfortably tho

newnametoday11 · 19/09/2023 20:28

5'6, 60-61 kg, size 10 top, 8 bottom (next sizes)
Wear Dr martens most of the time not heels

GnTplease · 19/09/2023 20:31

@soberfabulous I'm 5'8 and when I was 57kg I was teeny, a size 6/8 at most and incredibly lean. Seems wild you're taller than that and a 10! I'm currently 69kg and a 12 in most places...trying to get back to 62kg but a love of wine and cake is making that more of a challenge 🤣

terazzoChips · 19/09/2023 20:32

This is me! 5ft4, 60kg or a smidge under. Prepregnancy I was 52kg and a 6-8. Now I’m an 8-10. I rarely wear heels but they’ve always hurt a bit.

FrogInASock · 19/09/2023 20:38

I’m 5 foot 4 and was 58-60kg all through my 30s and could easily walk for miles in heels, all day and night. Was nearly always a size 10 in clothes.
Now at the twilight of my 40s and 65kg and a size 12. Feet and legs ache after an hour in heels.

Ashleigh42 · 19/09/2023 20:40

I'm 5'4 and 9 and a half stone. I'm a size 10.

I'm 5ft 7 and even when I was a size 8 I was over 60kg. At 85kg I was a size 12, despite BMI putting me right on the obese border. But I was always 'overweight' from birth, despite people thinking I was too skinny if they saw me 🤷‍♀️

Depends hugely on body shape and composition. Muscle weighs more than fat, muscle and fat will sit differently on different people. Even bone density can have a big impact, especially as you age.

It most definitely does depend on body shape and composition. I am the same height as you, and at 80 kgs I wear size 16. Even at 71 kgs I wore size 14 most of the time. I don't remember ever being 60 kgs as an adult, although I must have been once - back in the days when we didn't weigh ourselves much.

Heels, I never wear and never will.

Worriedaboutpp · 19/09/2023 20:58

My usual non-pregnancy weight is 60kg (5ft5). But I've been a size 8 and size 12 at the same weight. Definitely depends on muscle for me. I think its a really lovely weight for me, much below and I look old-face drawn. Over and neck/ face look podgy. I'd say get inner soles and a decent brand of heels that fit. I still wear heels when heavily pregnant and 71-73 kgs and as long as they fit well, I don't have a problem (think I'm quite strong from exercise).

Twilightstarbright · 19/09/2023 21:02

5ft5 and 59kg. High body fat percentage. I wear an 8/10 depending on the shop. Hate heels but that’s due to hyper-mobility.

HauntingSecrets · 19/09/2023 21:07

I was 60kg for ages, I never ever wear heels as I’d be taller than my husband and I was a size 10-12 (5ft8) I choose clothes for comfort though and not to fit in a specific label as literally no one in the world will ever know what size knickers you’re wearing unless you tell them.

MissDollyMix · 19/09/2023 21:10

55kg and 5’5”. Wear 8-10 depending on store. Can wear heels but I have muscly legs so that might help!

MissDollyMix · 19/09/2023 21:10

Sorry that should say 5’4”

HuntingoftheSnark · 19/09/2023 21:12

5 foot 8 and 56kg. Size 8 and always wear heels - I don't own any trainers and would look and feel very odd in them. Barefoot at home though.

Faytella2020 · 19/09/2023 21:17

5 foot 3 and 60kg so size 10.

MsCactus · 19/09/2023 21:22

I weigh this much and I'm a UK size 8.

If you want my measurements, they are...
Height 5ft 1"
Chest 36"
Under bust 28"
Waist 26"
Hips 36.5"

PreciousCandle · 19/09/2023 21:24

I always love these threads because it shows just how differently we all carry weight!

I'm 5ft4 and when 9.5 stone I look v petite and am a comfy size 8.

I've just had a baby however, and am only 10lbs or so away from my pre pregnancy weight but can barely fit a size 12 atm 😱 Bizarre! Must've lost all my muscle. Sad times.

babyproblems · 19/09/2023 21:27

I was 56kg (5”6) pre baby. Shot up to 80kg at birth!!! Now back at about 65kg slowly creeping down again.. I was a size 8/10 but hate tight fitting clothes whatever size I am.

Also yes high heels kill me whatever weight I am!!!! Flats and trainers all the way.

my biggest observation actually was how unbearably uncomfortable I was when I was heavier. Nothing fit properly, moving was harder. I was also recovering post baby but still! I remember being so so uncomfortable feeling like I wanted to peel my own skin off. Like my body was just struggling along. I’m still not feeling great but much better and I can feel my muscles finally coming back. Good luck on your journey op! X

RoachFish · 19/09/2023 21:31

I'm 5'7 and 59-60 kg, I am a size 10 comfortably but sometimes an 8. I'm not particularly curvy so that's why I can get into an 8.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 19/09/2023 21:32

Size 12 and no. I wear heels every day for work!

YourWinter · 19/09/2023 21:33

I’m 5’4 and 9st 9lbs. Up from 9 stone in May, when I had lost 3 stone since 1 January, but I a) stopped logging everything on MyFitnessPal and b), because I wasn’t logging everything, I bought biscuits again… ate biscuits… bought and baked more… I’m starting MFP again from 1 October.

I’m apple shape, no backside and slim hips and legs. I wear size 12 dresses and tops, and size 10 shorts, 28 waist jeans (high rise). I only ever wear flat footwear so can’t comment on high heels, they’re instruments of torture!

floofbag · 19/09/2023 21:34

I'm 9.7 and 5 foot , I wear size 8 or 10 but always 8 on top , mostly 8 though . I'm hourglass if that helps?
