Struggling to make a healthy meal

Please don't be unkind. I really just don't know how put a healthy meal together.
I used to eat terribly. Chips. Burgers Crisps. Ice cream. Cupcakes. Every day. Barely a veg. No fibre.pre diabetic.

The problem is im still eating out because i dont know how to cook a healthy meal.
If I eat at mcdonalds I eat the grilled chicken salad. But apparently their chicken and ingredients are full of crap. Today for lunch I had a tortilla wrap from the eurospar with chicken , peppers, lettuce and red onions but theb the mayo is really fattening and unhealthy as so is tortilla. I'm sure it has a few Es in there.
For snack I had vanilla yogurt , some fuel flavoured oats, granola and then chopped nuts and seeds. It has fibre yet but apparently my app says is FULL of sugar.
I thought this was a much better alternative than cake or ice cream but the sugar was whopping.
Yesterday for lunch I had a brown salad sandwich. Is this unhealthy too ?
Tonifhr ill have a salad but i need something like coleslaw to flavour it and um sure its still full of unhealthy fat
I feel like I haven't been eating healthy. What could I do?I cant eat dry ingredients.
I have ivf coming up again and know I need to change my diet

It's difficult if you haven't grown up around these choices, but it's not that hard to learn
A lot of it is around how you cook something - so instead of chips, have potatoes but not deep fried - so a jacket potato or wedges cooked in the oven. Keep the skin on the potato and eat that too. Fills you up better, has more fibre etc. But don't undo your efforts by loading it with high calorie fillings like butter or mayo.
Adding more fruit and vegetables to your diet will make it taste nicer and be healthier.
Your lunch - chicken with grilled veg in a wrap is a good lunch and you could make it - either as a grill or with a small amount of oil as a stir fry.
If you're really stuck - get a cook book or look up recipes online. The Hairy Bikers diet cook books are really good. Tasty normal food!

Don't be hard on yourself!

Everything can be bad so it's all about moderation, balance and finding things you like that aren't hugely processed.

Now that the weather is turning a great way to get a good mix of veg simply is to make vegetable soups, throw it all in a pot with some water and stock cubes.

Sounds like you are already making changes

Agreed. Don't be hard on yourself.
In the short term, think about substitutes - protein for protein, carbs for carbs. That opens a whole world up.
Make friends with chickpeas, and oh yes, white beans. use ready made sauces if you're not confident. Mini chicken fillets can be flavoured easily with garlic or pesto or those cheap curry powder packets.
Try it tonight! Fry some chicken in pesto, add some white beans and another dollop of pesto. Lush.
Add bits to your taste as you get more comfortable.
And luck x
