this is end of week 2 weigh in for me...
drum roll please...156 lbs
so that is 3 lbs off in 2 weeks...

now i must not think 'oh i have a pound in hand to play with'

PinkArt · 07/10/2023 12:44

17'13 yesterday, so two pounds back off from last week. I start a new job in a week so that's keeping me focused to aim for another two off by next Friday's weigh in.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/10/2023 14:08

@Theredjellybean wonderful, well done!
@PinkArt excellent!

gluttonousgoldbug · 07/10/2023 16:26

Weighed in at 14.st 9 this morning! Woohoo! So that's 3 lbs down - must have just had a heavy day on last weeks weigh in. Weighed a bit early but I'm declaring now in case it goes wrong before Monday! 😁

That takes me over the "3stone" loss now since November 2022. 🎉

It's been a long time coming. I've been more or less 2 pounds away from it since July!

Almost down to 14 and a half now which is my next milestone and then 13.13 here I come! That's doable before Christmas. 10 lbs in 11 weeks.

gluttonousgoldbug · 07/10/2023 16:27

Sounds like we're a motivated bunch at the moment. Well done everyone! Proud of you all!

Sedgwick · 07/10/2023 18:55

@Theredjellybean @PinkArt @gluttonousgoldbug well done guys, this good news is helping me not dive into snacks tonight.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/10/2023 08:34

Good morning ladies. I’ve had such a lovely weekend away, I don’t want it to end! We really needed it, just chilling time out.

Back to reality though today. I need to do a shop when I get home, luckily I planned all my menu out last week so I just need to actually go. I am really going to try to get on it now, this is such a busy time of year but it also really lends itself to hearty home cooking and batch cooking, soups and casseroles and chillis etc so my plan is to batch cook every week for my lunches and make soup.

plus I really need to have a break from drinking. I get like this sometimes, I start to feel just really yuck from too much wine, my stomach gets growly and I feel very unhealthy. A few weeks totally off to repair the liver always does me good.

poorpaws · 09/10/2023 08:00

You are all doing really well, congratulations and well done to everyone.

Good morning lovelies

After gaining quarter of a pound last week, the first week of our 7/7 this week has been difficult for me. I have clung to the wagon so hard, fingers bleeding and knuckles bruised as I was definitely not going to gain this week.

I've lost 2.75 lbs, not quite 3 lbs but the scales weren't sure so I'm taking the highest figure. I am delighted as it's 2 lbs off in 2 weeks, the quarter of a pound off that I gained and half a pound in the diet bank towards next week 💪

I hope everyone weighing on this lovely Monday morning has a good result, good luck and well done because I know how wonderful you all are. I'm soooo happy ...

Theredjellybean · 09/10/2023 08:03

Poorpaws... brilliant loss...so you come back up front and sit on the comfy driving seat of the wagon...
I did not do so well yesterday..full roast and lemon tart then a cheese sandwich and crisp...
The only win was I had one small glass of champagne and no other alcohol..silver lining from COVID I just don't fancy it .
I will support @thenewaveragebear1983 in alcohol free weeks..

Tessisme · 09/10/2023 09:00

Well done @poorpaws! That's a fantastic loss. You're definitely on track now.

I am down 2lbs to 11st. BUT I have had this awful flu like virus and have barely eaten anything for a couple of days. I feel a wee bit better today, but still rather wobbly and lightheaded. And I still don't have much of an appetite. So I probably won't have a true sense of what I have or haven't lost until next week. No doubt I'll be cracking open the biscuits and embarking on a feeding frenzy in a day or two as my body tries to make up for lost time🤣

FatThinFatThinFatThin · 09/10/2023 09:01

Can I join you all?

As my username suggests, I have lost and regained so much weight over the years. I am trying something a bit different this time, which is to just try to lose about 10lbs and then have a few weeks off where I try to maintain that weight. ie trying to do this VERY SLOOOOWLY to see if that helps prevent the rebound.

I am also trying to have plenty of days where I eat normally - not excessively, but not limited either. So that I never really feel deprived and instead TRY to find something sustainable.

Earlier this year I lost 10lbs and then paused. In the last month I've restarted and am 5lbs down on the next 10lbs - which I hope to have done by Xmas.

I am trying to come to terms with the fact that it will (and probably should) take me a couple of years to lose the 55-70lbs I need to to get to a healthy weight. And even if I never get that far, anything is better than nothing and nothing is better than gaining.

Sedgwick · 09/10/2023 09:42

Week 2/7 weigh in, lost 1.5 lbs. It’s not much considering I am eating so little, didn’t cheat and no alcohol but I am happy. It’s my lowest weight in 3 years and I feel really well. One more stone to go.

Welcome @FatThinFatThinFatThin , good luck with your plan, it makes a lot of sense.

Well done @poorpaws and @Tessisme .

@Theredjellybean I find Sundays hard too as it’s always cooked breakfast, a big traditional roast and crumble (not for me) here.

poorpaws · 09/10/2023 09:42

@Tessisme aww sorry to hear you aren't well, I hope you pick up very soon and avoid the biscuit tin. Good news on the weight loss though.

@Theredjellybean somehow, I have no idea how since I'm always checking this thread, I missed your post. That is a fantastic loss, so well done and it's good to have 1 lb in the diet bank. Let's hope we can both/all stay on track this week. You must be so pleased with yourself and you deserve to be.

@FatThinFatThinFatThin welcome, it's good to have you here and you sound like you have a good plan. I could have your username, it fits me perfectly but if you stick with us we could easily change it. We are a fabulous group of really kind, caring people so you should do well if you stick with us.

Some of us started a 7 lbs off in 7 weeks and we are 2 weeks in so you could join us today on a 5 lbs in 5 weeks if you would like, it takes us to 13 November which is exactly six weeks before Christmas. Of course you don't have to do it, not everyone is, but it's good to try different things to keep us motivated. We all have different weight loss methods here, anything goes really.

I'm waiting in for a smart meter to be fitted this morning so the dog walk will be delayed. I've been fighting having one for years as it may tip me over into "how much? I'm not using that appliance again", mode.

I've had a sore metallic tasting throat for three days (thank you dgs) and I'm not sleeping well so I wonder if I'm coming down with something. I'm also having my medication checked, blood tests and blood pressure daily monitoring since it's a year (can you believe it 😱) since my heart attack. Hopefully my tablets will decrease since my blood pressure is permanently low now.

I'm waffling ... I hope you all have a good day and a happy dieting wee.

poorpaws · 09/10/2023 09:43

Hahaha dieting wee, I have loads of those. Dieting week obviously 😁

Zebracat · 09/10/2023 10:45

Good morning. 97.2 this morning so thats an sts . I’m not sure about it. I was well back within 96 but I had a difficult day yesterday and walked much too far so my hip was really hurting and I couldn’t sleep. I think there may be some water retention. But I’m going to Paris tomorrow and there will be alcohol and patisserie. I feel like I should bow out of the 7 pound challenge or I’ll skew the figures!

poorpaws · 09/10/2023 10:48

@Sedgwick well done, that's a good loss. It's above your 1 lb this week so I'm sad that you feel disappointed. This weight loss thing is so difficult at times but you are doing really well.

Lowest weight in 3 years is terrific and it's reminded me that I haven't been this weight since April/May 2019! I don't feel as slim as I did then so that's quite strange. I'm sure I have more rolls of tummy fat and I'm still nowhere near the size 12 I dream of <sigh>.

You are doing great though so don't be disheartened, we've got this!

OP posts:
poorpaws · 09/10/2023 10:52

@Zebracat no don't bow out. Have a fantastic time in Paris <swoon> and we'll sort it all out when you come home. There is still plenty of time left on our 7/7, we aren't even half way yet and you can pull it back. Even if you don't manage the full 7 lbs, any loss will be good. Have a fabulous trip and eat something amazing for me 😀

TalkToTheHand123 · 10/10/2023 22:15

Anyone on track for losing 7 lbs in 7 weeks? If so, what is your method? I've stopped weighing myself, too deflating when I don't lose anything, although I am getting comments I'm losing weight so hopeful of losing, just not as quick as originally thought.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/10/2023 06:03

@TalkToTheHand123 i probably am on track. I just need to keep doing it. I’ve lost 4lbs so far at SW (3 weeks) which sounds dire but then I have had a social thing every weekend. I’m hoping that now I can just get my head down and do the whole week I should improve on that. I’m actually quite enjoying slimming world, I like the recipes and I like the fact that I am allowed to eat. It’s been good for me to learn a bit of restraint with the ‘treats’ and not consider it to be an out and out failure if I eat something. I reckon I’m eating around 1500 cals a day which is not going to produce dramatic losses for me, but could do 1lb a week.

Theredjellybean · 11/10/2023 06:48

I'm on track...method is a calorie deficit.
I eat 1200 calories a day and have stopped drinking (mostly).
Specifically I don't eat breakfast...have about a 300 calories lunch at about 13pm then dinner at 18:30..is whatever we all fancy but I eat a smaller portion of its calorie dense. Lots of veg and salad , then sometimes I'll have a little bit of pudding.
That's it really...

Sedgwick · 11/10/2023 10:28

I’m on track too. Fast800.

Milky coffee for breakfast. Usually no lunch but occasionally I have one of these: scrambled/boiled egg/50 gr feta/spoon of peanut butter. Dinner is a large heaped plate of some of these: roasted cauliflower, courgettes, portobello mushroom, 200 gr steamed spinach (every dinner), steamed broccoli, kale, chickpeas with a chicken breast, sirloin steak or salmon fillet or tin of pilchards. No alcohol. Mocktail of low cal tonic (I know it’s horribly chemically but needs must) and lemons/limes/grapefruit and a bag of quavers (86kc) is my treat.

I don’t strictly calorie count the veg but avoid carby veg. I think I come in around 800 kc a day. I am 56. Any more food than this and I don’t lose an ounce.

I don’t think it really matters what diet you follow as long as you stick to it. I’ve been trying on and off for 5 years but finally doing it. I’ve lost 15lbs in 5 weeks.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/10/2023 13:13

@Sedgwick that’s great results. I had good results when I did blood sugar diet a few years ago, but I couldn’t sustain it with my running/sports.

it’s puppy day today! Collected her at 9.30 and it’s been a busy morning, she is now sleeping in her crate while I eat some lunch. I did some prepped pasta boxes on Sunday and they’ve been useful this week, cooked pasta, peppers, peas, onion, tomato, no sauce. Then for various meals I have added a sauce or mayo and protein. It didn’t go stodgy at all, which is always my concern when pre-cooking pasta. I have a chicken in the oven and some baked potatoes as well, which we’ll have tonight.

my weigh in is tomorrow, I have no idea if it will be a good week or not, and I’m going to try not to weigh myself on my own scales beforehand as it’s just a pointless exercise. I’m going to buy a 12 week pre-pay this week as now I’ve done a few weeks I am keen to keep going til Christmas.

poorpaws · 11/10/2023 13:59

I was on track until the last few days and I'm not sure how but I've gained half a pound. I suppose the last stone is my problem, the nearer I get to goal the harder it is to lose.

Porridge and blueberries every morning (the Quaker sachets so already measured with skimmed milk, no sugar).
Parsnip soup with cooked broccoli in to give it a bit more substance for lunch.
Huge salad, I mean really huge, with jacket potato and beef burger or chicken breast, salmon or other fish. Reduced fat coleslaw and low fat cottage cheese on potato (no butter), low fat salad dressing.
Usually no dessert but just low fat yogurt if any.

Evening - Diet Coke or black coffee, no alcohol. I'd love a granola bar every evening but try to restrict it to weekends.

10,000 - 12,000 steps a day on the dog walk and 55 min exercise routine which is becoming less and less and I should actually be doing that now. I guess the exercise routine will soon be deceased.

That's about all I do really except one day a week we go for a bacon sandwich and creamy coffee at our local cafe.

@thenewaveragebear1983 puppy day, yayyy! I wouldn't be able to contain my excitement. Enjoy every moment with her and is she still Maggie? We need puppy photos please and ooh the puppy smell is divine. I was once asked to name the very best thing in the world and my answer was a puppy (this was years ago but I stand by my answer).

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone.

TalkToTheHand123 · 12/10/2023 08:37

@thenewaveragebear1983 , to me it sounds a lot as I put items on the scales and found 1lbs is quite heavy.

I'm going to try plan my eating a bit better as I'm probably eating too much and wasted a lot of soup I made recently.

Need to push myself a bit more exercise wise as slacking a bit.

Sedgwick · 12/10/2023 12:59

I’ve come down with a bad cold. I am lucky I can take a duvet day. Feel dreadful. Fast800 abandoned for a day or two.
