Controlling eating??

Don't know if this should be in this thread but feel I need to vent a little.

So I've never been a big 3 meal a day person so if i have a decent sized meal at lunch I then struggle to have a lot for dinner.

I went out for lunch with my friend so naturally I will have something small at dinner as I feel full. So my other half was planning to cook this eve- a fake-away kind of healthy kebab with salad pitta chips etc. I said to him I'll have plenty of the chicken and salad and that'll do me.

Whenever I say this he then says ok well I won't bother to have much either, even though I know he's hungry and wants it. Then I feel guilty about it and I'm not sure if I'm over thinking this but it seems a bit controlling ??

Any views on this welcome.

He’s a grown man and he is responsible for what he eats.
It feels more of a chore to do a full on meal for one so maybe he just doesn’t want to put all the effort in for just him so scales the meal back, I know I would in this situation.

It just sounds like you're making him think more sensibly about food and he's trying to be supportive.
