i'm hoping for a small group of mn'ers, that will help me stay focused. in turn i can help others stay focused for the next month (although starting today).

i'm older 66, have a solid 10lbs to loose but would "settle" for 5 but need to shift this quickly, due to an upcoming short trip.

i've been down this path before and undoubtably will most likely be on it again beyond this month.
i have had some success in years/decades past and tend to drop weight but gain (less) back each time, so lots of yoyoing.
scared to look, but know i'm near 152, top of my bmi suggests 141, generally comfy at 145.
have been 198, but that was long ago.

Well yesterday was day 1, and I did well.
i’ve got healthy meal options, and will repeat my online exercises today.

Well done @greenspaces4peace
I also want to lose 10 pounds initiallyand then maybe some more! I turned 40 this month and Im finding it so hard to shift the weight. Im 5ft 5 and weigh 11 stones and 7 pounds.

Good luck!

@LoveSick64 happy to share the challenges!
today dh cut and left on the counter a small (yes it was small) piece of halva...i asked him to help me out and not derail me till my trip...he ate half and STILL left me a bit (too tempting i just can't resist).
starting feeling headachy at 2pm, and i had 5 almonds. logged them so not too bad really.
by 3:30 when we sit and have coffee together (a serious calorific latte with a massive gob of honey that i'm NOT ready to let go of yet) rather than just the coffee (which is an indulgence) yup he handed me a piece of cheese....thankfully like the halva was tiny BUT
supper is loaded with veggies and low cal so low cal that i've decided to roast up some cauliflower to add to it. a beef stir fry.
last night i put myself to bed at 7pm pj's and all to avoid watching him snack bless him he just can't survive on my diet (so he claims).
Exercise, water, and multivits :)
oh and maintained some IF from 5:15pm till 0930 am.

How do you plan on reaching your goal?

fingers crossed for today, although i have weighted in 152.1
breakfast was good
i now need to food shop and plan for the next 48 hours.
ideally i would like to follow the fast 800 plan, i have done the fast 800 online program a couple years ago with very good success.
ideally i can organize 3-4 go to fast 800 breakfasts, and lunches and will use portion control for supper (i often do jamie oliver recipes with cc so it's easy to portion out 400 calories etc.)

mild exercise but exercise none the less.
mystery factor is calories in the soup dh made; beef bone broth, with lots of veggies. salt might wreak havoc. I won’t be weighing in tomorrow am as it’s an 0500h start to the day.

I did weigh in on Saturday, and I stayed on track and fasted through till 1:30pm. Very mild exercise but given the 0500 start surprises I accomplished as much.

Still plodding along without much change on the scale.
Not hungry, exercise is going well. More a case of kitchen management with a dh that doesn’t need to join in, is more physically active and lives off carbs.

Finally a dip!! 151.4
Supper meal planning for Dh is my biggest issue.

Well done!
Im weighing in stones and pounds and have lost 2 pounds since Monday but my period is due soon and that usually wreaks havoc, weight wise.

I had roast chicken, potatoes and lots of broccoli for supper. Gave dh a big plate and I ate a smaller portion.

greenspaces4peace · 08/09/2023 04:11

For the most part the willpower is there @LoveSick64 , I do waffle at 3:30pm when dh and I have a snack of coffee and cheese. My latte is loaded with honey, my cheese piece today was bigger than usual.
I ended up being busier than usual so no doubt a decent calorie burn.
