How many calories for tea tonight?

I'm trying to loose weight
Don't seem to be dropping below 11 stone
Breakfast -1 slice of warburtons wholemeal small bread with a bit of strawberry jam
1 banana
Lunch - sandwich 380 cals
Snack -1 rocky bar 88 cals

My maintenance cals is 1450 (as sedentary -I do walk around 1 hr per day but don't count this as activity )

What would you allow yourself calories wise for tea tonight ?
No more snacks etc just tea
I only drink water

Do you know for sure your maintenance is 1,450? Eating less than that puts you in a deficit. Are you wanting to lose the weight slowly, like less than a pound per week? The less you want to lose per week and month, the smaller the deficit can be. The weight loss will be slower, but it will probably be more sustainable.

Ah no actually it's my bmr
My maintenance calories are 1,691 (sedentary )
And 1,938 (light exercises)
Not sure what's classed as light exercise so I stick with sedentary
I'm happy to loose 1b or 1/2 lb a week
I'm not in a rush to loose it
Just as long as I do

500ish.

I would say there's much better use of calories though then your breakfast and lunch, you will soon be feeling ravenous (if you aren't already).

I'm doing slimming world. Baked potato. Small tin baked beans. 25g cheese. Will have blueberries later as a snack.

Janieforever · 24/08/2023 17:39

500 a day deficit to loose a pound a week, so 450-500

id say though if calorie counting is your chosen poison, you can eat much better and more filling than you are.

uhOhOP · 24/08/2023 17:48

I'd probably eat 500 to 600 calories for dinner, and aim to include a lot of vegetables for the volume, otherwise 600 calories would not make enough food for me! I like to eat a lot 😁

Do you have any ideas for dinner?

750 according to the gousto recipe card, spag bol. So far only had a slice of white bread with a bit of lurpak and a slice of roast beef for lunch though so I’ve got the calories to spare.

Protein! Eggs or chicken, with vegetables. Push the boat out and have a two-course breakfast, with a bowl of good yoghurt as the second course!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/08/2023 18:15

Porridge and blueberries
Eggs
Yoghurt and berries

I'm having BBQ chicken thighs , rice with leeks and onion and salad - lettuce/ grated courgette and carrots/tomatoes/ cucumber/ coriander with balsamic dressing. Don't know how many calories as I'm doing SW.

SophiaElise · 24/08/2023 18:47

300

Scallop and rocket salad
Grapes

It depends what sort of foods you like really, it's good to have protein every meal. If you like toast for example I woule have a boiled egg with it instead of jam, be more calories but many more nutrients and keep you fuller. I have cereal with fresh berries as I am never particularly hungry in the mornings, or sometimes natural yoghurt. Lunch is usually some sort of salad but with dressing and some protein like chicken or tuna and a wrap/flatbread. Dinner varies wildly as we eat as a family, usually again protein and then carbs and veggies. I love stir fry as its tasty and filling- lots of food for the calories and its good for you! Always end the day on something sweet so keep 100 or so cals for some chocolate, grapes etc.
