Wegovy®? (semaglutide 2.4mg) - expected launch in the United Kingdom

As you'll be aware semaglutide 2.4mg is not yet commercially available in the UK. 

The launch of semaglutide 2.4mg will no longer take place in Spring 2023. Novo Nordisk is committed to launching this product in the UK market as soon as possible, however our priority remains to ensure that demand can be consistently met for patients. There is currently no confirmed launch date for semaglutide 2.4mg in the UK.

Semaglutide 2.4 mg is not yet available to be prescribed by healthcare professionals in the UK. All healthcare professionals will be made aware when it becomes available for them to prescribe. We suggest you remain in contact with your doctor or pharmacist who will be able to inform you when this is available.

Some posters on the ozempic threads have been told by online suppliers that it will be available in a few weeks which is completely untrue. If NovoNordisk don't have a release date then how can online suppliers say they will have stock soon? Totally misleading or rather a blatant lie.

Quite possibly neither are lying though. They have said in that reply it will be launched as soon as possible.

No confirmed release date but confirmed it will be asap and they haven’t actually said that it’s not coming soon. That could well be in a few weeks time, or in 6 months time, they simply haven’t said in that reply. There is nothing in that reply that doesn’t stack up with pharmacies saying it’s coming as soon as available. Yes some have indicated a timescale of weeks but still in a speculative way, they haven’t actually said a date or that it’s available now. It will just suddenly become available at some point, it will be one day not available and the next available.

All the pharmacies have been doing is indicating that it is on the way and more than a few (inc high street pharmacies, not just the online random ones) have been ramping it up to get interest and signups for notifications, updating their webpages on it etc in the last week or so - they are the ones that will actually sell it and have contracts for supply. It’s entirely possible that the manufacturer is keeping them more up to date than they would do in a response to a random enquiry. They do seem to be prepping all of a sudden for it being available, they aren’t doing that without at least some positive indication from within their supply chains that it is on the way even if no confirmed d-day yet.

I got alerted last night that Wegovy 2.4mg injection had become available and I was able to order via https://www.pharmacyonline.co.uk/

I filled out all of the info but by the time I clicked submit wegovy was out of stock.

I got Wegovy from Boots Online Pharmacy this week. I have been on Saxenda with them though.

Does anyone know how many clicks are between each shot? That prob doesn't make sense, but I was on Ozempic and there were 19 click until a full dose was administered, so knowing there was a shortage - i was using 10 clicks to make my pen last longer. Now i got my wegovy pen - I was wondering if anyone knew how many click were there between each dose?

It specifically says in the patient information not yo count the clicks for the dose but to use it as prescribed.
